Dunno. It would seem to be normalized across cities but in the case of Houston, post-Covid era more people can work remotely so people reason why live in the city if I don't have to.

No San Fran? Suspect list

While the bay area metro is huge, the city of San Francisco's population is dwarfed by the cities on the list. I believe San Jose is more populous than SF.

Both Houston and Dallas areas generally experience population growth of 1.5-1.8%, per year. If 100k people move out and 197k move in, it is disingenuous to write an article aboot them "Losing" 100k.

While I realize the article is agenda-driven, I have to wonder if the agenda was to make the author look like a ree-ree.

Cities are poison even in red states. Homogenous wealthy rural areas is where the inflow migration is happening. People aren’t living liberal shithole blue areas to relocate in the liberal shithole red areas like they are migrating from.

All major metro areas are poison.

Austin is sooo liberal now and the city counsel does not support police. They've let the homeless take over. You have to step over them to get in a restaurant. Crime in Houston is out of control. And I'm guessing the same is true for Dallas. Common denominator here is all have Liberal Liberal Democrat Mayors.

Very few people choose to actually live in Dallas and Houston proper. Most move to and live in the suburbs.

Houston resident checking in. If I never had to go inside of 99 again I wouldn’t.

I’d expect a factor for Houston would be the state of Texas taking over Houston ISD. A lot of parents simply don’t want that level of disruption for their kids.

If you never go inside of 99, you’re not a Houston resident.

I considered it as a long term option, but crazy pricing and with how much Ai enjoy living in Katy, no longer a realistic option. I hope to find a fixer upper townhome in Katy/Cinco/Fulshear area in the next year. Prices are still ridiculous though.

People are more likely to move due to their pocketbook and not politics.

There are plenty of conservative areas in Dallas and Houston. The park cities in the middle of Dallas county is ruby red. But $1M doesn’t buy you anything there whereas you can build a castle with that in an exurb near a lake.
