That's God's country. Hwy 82 between Wichita Falls and Lubbock is a beautiful drive. There's also plenty of that in New Mexico. I was surprised the first time I went through Oklahoma, I thought it would be red dirt and tumbleweeds, but there's actually some pretty decent scenery there.

Little known fact - There are 11 ecosystems in Oklahoma.

That's more than 46 other states.

There is little reason for much of the rest of the country to go to OK, but its beauty for what it is can be appreciated.

Rock Springs all the way to Rawlins on I-80. Wamsutter is the highlight of that drive.

I’ve spent too much time in Wamsutter. I think that’s where they film the some of the fake lunar landings.

Seriously the the Subway workers at the Wamsutter location used to be the highest paid Subway employees in the country. It waa the only they could anyone to go there to work.

If we go with the OP's topo standpoint it seems like it would have to be the flattest states which would be Florida, Illinois, North Dakota, and Louisiana in that order.

Completely off topic.

The worst drive in the US (not counting traffic) is the few miles before and after Harris Ranch in Coalinga CA on I-5. I grew up around livestock but the smell of the feedlots is just ungodly. Makes a paper plant smell like lilacs.

I never cared for U.S.61, Vicksburg to Memphis. Flat delta land with few redeeming features from a motorist standpoint. Bunch of farmland and bugs that stain your paintjob.

Most of the Indian land out west that I’ve ridden through looked pretty shitty. That’s why it was given to them. Sad, but true.

I remember as a kid driving through Iowa on our yearly road trip South to visit family. Hands down, it felt like torture. If a kid can't find any redeeming qualities, it is shite.

The treat for having endured that drive is going through Tehachapi.
