12 years ago today I cheated on my college gf because I thought she was doing the same.
She wasn't.
And even now, I wonder what might have been had I been a better more mature person who wasn't attracted to trash.

in high school i had a steady gf. met another girl i liked so i started dating both. steady's family decided to move. RIGHT NEXT DOOR to the new girl. had to make choice. chose the new girl. she turned out to be a prude while steady was ready any time any where.

Nothing dramatic. College GF. We drifted apart over a summer and never got back together. I still think about her and probably always will. Our parents are friends so I hear about her from time to time and it always gives me a pang of regret. If she ever gets divorced or widowed...

I don't have a "one who got away" but I do have one I thought hung the moon and he didn't want me

Every past relationship has taught me something. I'm not the same person I was in any of them, and I doubt they are either.
Regardless of the depths of heartbreak, I absolutely believe I'm better off without them (and they're better off without me).
I do cringe when I think of how immature and dramatic I used to be though. Like hang-up-the-phone-on-you cry all the time dramatic. Yikes.
ETA: I'd bet that I've been referred to as a dodged bullet at least a few times.

My “one that got away” was my high school sweetheart. Up until about 2 years ago, we would still see each other occasionally and hook up. When she moved back to Louisiana, I thought we would get back together, but it was not meant to be I guess.
