My one that got away was one of my closest friends in high school and early college years.
She was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen and was all I wanted but she was always interested in my cousin.
She is married now with kids and I am engaged. She asked me just last year...
"How come you never asked me out?"
"You we interested in my cousin"
"I was young and stupid and trying to make you jealous. I was totally in love with you"
"Well I was young and stupid and apparently clueless"
That made me sad for a while and made me wonder how my life would have been different if I had just asked her out.
