There’s no reason for the flashers in heavy rain. I can’t tell if you’ve stalled out or are having some other distress in low visibility. It makes things more dangerous in my opinion.

No no no no. Just simply no. It's dangerous and makes traffic worse. All you need to do is make sure your lights are on. Not day time running lights, but you actual light setting to ON.
It literally reduces visibility for the other drivers and yourself. It makes a bad situation worse.

How many of you idiots are getting in wrecks because someone has their flashers on? If this bothers you or you “can’t tell if someone is braking” then you’re just a shitty driver.
I don’t ever see threads with people complaining about people driving with flashers on when it is sunny. But occasionally I see people driving with flashers on in the sun. Don’t you? Do you throw a temper tantrum in that scenario too? Rain or shine, it just doesn’t bother me.

Exactly this. Save the hazard lights for cars that have actually stalled/crashed on or near the road and stop being a giant pussy.

People who drive with just their parking lights on are as bad. In a blinding rain where it’s hard to make out the lanes, you can’t tell if that car in front of you with parking lights on is a dumbass moving slowly in the travel lane or parked and you’ve drive onto the shoulder and are about to crash into it.

In heavy rain I appreciate it and one storm in Alabama I feel it kept from a wreck for most except 1 idiot who did no pay heed and flipped his car a mile of 2 down the road.
