And we'll languish in covid mandates until we reach some as-yet-to-be-determined vaccination percentage.

But hey, its all for the greater good, right?

Not a single location in St George.

You might want to look at that map a little closer

I called and got my father registered. Very easy process at Brookshires. Thanks so much for posting this,
You're welcome.

It's amusing how many posters seem to think the 10,500 doses of the vaccine for the latest tranche of eligible vaccination recipients are all the state will get for a long time instead of it being just one batch with many more (in larger amounts) to come.

No one said that in this thread. Think it's safe to say no one thinks it either.

Presumably in a week or two enough doses will be allocated to finish the nursing home job (priority 1), then those plus and additional growth in supply can be routed to the local pharmacies as well.

In the other thread lsupride was saying Oschner patients can sign up now at the hopsitals if the meet the criteria.

yeah but quite a few of them are already coming up on their 2nd dose date.

Of course supply will start to ramp up, hopefully pretty soon. But so far they are falling well short of their projections, both statewide and nationally.

What people forget is it takes two doses. In Europe they are talking about giving just one because of shortages. Cue up: that’s not how this works

I thought part of the National problem was they're literally holding onto the supplies for the 2nd dose (vs. using future supply to fill those orders).

I can see another problem coming up when 50,000 people need their 1st poke and 50,000 more need their second poke at the same time.

Just talked to my parents. It's a complete clusterfrick. The state website didn't even have the list of facilities with the vaccine this morning. Mom had to rely on WAFB report and contact pharmacies. Most pharmacies went straight to voicemail or no one answered. All pharmacies required by appointment only. And by the time my mom was able to make it to the website application for the vaccine, all slots were booked.

What's even shittier, is that hospitals and doctor's arent' receiving the vaccine to give to their patients. My Dad's dr. has not received any information from the state about vaccine other than "try WalGreens". My dad was hoping he could get the vaccine before Biden takes over and gives the vaccines out to other countries before we get them.

In short, it's been an unmitigated frick up by the states so far, and Louisiana is leading the pack.

Baton Rouge Ochsner does not have the vaccine. My mom called them this morning and they said maybe NOLA Ochsner has it, but not this one.

You win "stupidest thing on the internet" today. And that beats your buddy in Congress saying "A-woman". Quite impressive.

Maybe like the govt creating an online portal where you enter your social, which then gives you options to schedule based on your age and status

Guess thats too much to ask

Every govt website like this I've ever seen (the healthcare.gov site originally and another one for some specific provider information) basically looks like someone was trying to make the process as difficult as possible and make it incredibly hard to understand. I've never seen a govt site that was intuitive like the iphone or simple like many other sites we all use every day.

Govt sucks at making anything simple and easy.

I saw that. The south Lafourche community gets screwed. They have to go to Matthews for this.

Chauvin has one though.

Only 2 locations in Lafourche, 3 in Terrebonne.

In Baton Rouge? My mom was told specifically, that they don't have the vaccine. However, i don't think she talked to a doctor.
