When my young, beautiful wife and I mention that we have no plans for children (ever), we are inevitably barraged by young parents who attempt to sell us on the never-ending joys of parenting. It's an odd cult-like mentality. It's almost as if they're trying to sell us Advocare or Rodan & Fields.
As a person who didn't have a kid until over 7 years into his marriage this is spot frickin' on.

So, Pecker what you are actually saying is your snake lacks any venom?

Pecker posts about not wanting to have kids and people shitting on him for it. He gets shite on for posting about not wanting to have kids.

3 kids -- now 26, 21 and 17 1/2. I don't regret a single thing.

No, he gets shite on for thinking he knows everything and the way he presents himself.

When studying parents in comparison to their childless counterparts, researchers have found that "parents, and mothers in particular, do not report greater happiness, greater health, greater psychological well-being than people who have never had kids,"
They don't report their greater happiness in raising kids because they're too busy being happy raising kids. These third-waivers are the ones who feel the need to flaunt their "non-normative" lifestyles. Good for freaking you, Betsy. No one cares about your photography Instagram page. They DO care, however, about your kid becoming president or getting a D1 scholarship to take their football team to the 'ship.

Why did you take two sentences to say the same thing worded differently?

I've never tried to sell anyone on not having kids.
You are making an indirect sell at this very moment. You may not be selling us but you are at least selling it to yourself that you are making the right decision.
Like parents you cannot help but discuss your stance and beliefs. That is my point.

An 80 year old man was having his annual checkup when the doctor asked how he was feeling.
"I've never been better!" he boasted.
"I've got an 18 year old bride who's pregnant and having my child! What do you think about that?"
The doctor considered this for a moment, then said, "Let me tell you a story. I knew a guy who was an avid hunter. He never missed a season. But one day he went out in a bit of a hurry and accidentally grabbed his umbrella instead of his gun."
The doctor continued, "So he was in the woods and suddenly a grizzly bear appeared in front of him! He raised up his umbrella, pointed it at the bear and squeezed the handle. And do you know what happened?" the doctor queried.
Dumbfounded, the old man replied, "No, what?"
The doctor continued, "The bear dropped dead in front of him."
"That's impossible!" exclaimed the old man.
"Someone else must of shot the bear."
"That's kind of what I'm getting at," replied the doctor.

Read the anonymous submission in the OP. I would question things too if I hadn't gotten laid in 19 months

We actually try to avoid the topic as much as possible because we know where it leads.
Christmas is going to suck around your house when you grow up and realize that you were just being selfish as a young adult. It will be just you and your wife exchanging tube socks and scarves with no one to share with. Sad.
