Trade school ftw
A trade is great til your 50 and have a bad back, bad knees, ringing in the ears, and recurring neck pain. Then you'll wish you went to college and got a white collar job.

So what does this mean, and should we be concerned?
Means majority of jobs requiring higher education (doctors, lawyers, engineers, dentists, vets, executives, etc) will be filled by women. Men will, if this board gets its wish, all be repairing toilets and installing electrical outlets for “great money” of at most 50/hr and in most cases 30 and under.

Been that way for a min.
When I graduated LSU in 08, it was like 55/45.

This. If I could go back would be Hanging iron. Making 80-90k with no student debt. Drive Ford Raptor.
I’m smart enough that I would have been project manager in no time

Still think I’m over generalizing?
quote:
lack of men in colleges are leading to women leaving college as entitled and self loathing individuals (more than they are generally), never really getting the experience of socially mingling with the opposite sex in their early adult years. They only hear about what men are from their communist professors who no longer work with males in their own departments because all the men left.
This is the overgeneralizing. And it's bad

You know you can move to salary fairly easily from a trade, right? Most competent people do

4-5 years of missed earning time and saddling yourself with six figure debt while trying to start a family isn’t for everyone.

Well when a certain side of the political ilse has waged a war on education and college in general, the past 10 years, it's no wonder there is a drop in numbers.

I think there are many many many factors that are contributing to this. One is the fact that like 87% of k-12 teachers are female so it shouldn’t be surprising females do better in a situation like this. Second I think young men are largely just opting out of society in many ways because all incentives for them to not do so are rapidly being taken away. We see this in many places particularly the dating market and marriage etc. This one is particularly dangerous because young men are driven to get out there and do things and removing any legitimate means for most to do so is likely for them to go out and create their own.

What the hell are you talking about? There are more colleges than ever and colleges are richer than ever.
Who do you think made Bank on the $1 trillion+ in student loans?
Women dominating college is by design. Anyone who pays attention knows that.
The education system itself rewards female traits and behaviors and punishes natural male traits. This is reinforced significantly in k-12. Most teachers are female, most administrators are female.
On top of years of school with this bias colleges see women as "minority" admits on top of it.

The problem is k-12 education, it’s geared entirely toward how women learn best. It’s a real issue.
This needed to be repeated. Boys being diagnosed and medicated all because the are acting like boys.
We wonder why boys loved the male teacher who shot it straight, didn't take shite, and had a bit of humor in him.

In my late twenties I had times when I regretted college after seeing guys my age making double my salary in the oilfield. In my early forties I’ve passed them in salary and they are still doing the same thing. Not to mention the lay offs every time the price of oil dips

I work for a foundation company that has 23-28 year old foreman making over $100k a year working 5 days a week.
The trades are underrated. Some of these foreman will be millionaires within the next 5 years and never stepped foot in a college classroom.

The 25 year olds I knew making 6 figures never became millionaires because they spent it all on boats, atvs, F-250s, and big tires
And for some child support

Motivated people will find success. You can always go into the trades after college. Harder for most people to go the opposite way, once you are working, it’s hard to find the time for education.

I went to trade school out of high school back in the late seventies. The only thing I missed from college was having to sit in those classes. I was around LSU campus every night partying with my friends that went to college. I ended up making more money than at least half of my friends that went to college. Times were different back then. I was sitting on a railing drinking one game in the student section and had a Sherrif’s deputy standing next to me. He asked me what I was drinking and I told him sprite. He laughed and said yeah right and what else. We both laughed. Those were some good times
