You ever seen a gator move fast? They are way faster than you or me in short bursts. You don’t eff around with big, wild gators.
City people amaze me. When you grow up in the country, you understand the reality of animals. I’m certain that none of these folks have ever seen a gator in the wild. I’m certain none of them have eaten something they named. So they anthropomorphize and romanticize animals. It’s crazy.

Day camp possibly. Any way, the fact that this gator was brave enough to walk the streets of a very populated with lots of families area is probably the bigger concern. Harvesting it seems like a totally reasonable thing to do.

All the fricking idiots saying “Oh look, he is in the back of the truck. WLF lied, they could have transported it.” You know what? I transport 180 lb. deer on my four wheeler every year once they are dead. Now trying to get a live deer on my four wheeler would be a whole different story. Lol. How many of these keyboard warriors would want to try and load a 10 ft, pissed off, and very much alive gator into the bed of a truck?

I'm cracking up at the dipshits saying "well they could've tranquilized it!" Yeah, tranquilize a big, angry, fast 300lb armored dinosaur, then just pick it up bro

I’ve thought that before. Saw one sitting on a bank for three straight days. I was sure it was dead. Until I approached it. Never saw something move so fast.

I see the issue as the gator wasn’t afraid of people. I think that is a concern. Harvesting it was a completely legal option so I think it was a good choice. Hell if this just saved someone’s pup then it’s probably worth it.

Just seems like the easy way out. Major lack of problem solving but not surprising for Orleans

You honestly believe the Louisiana Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries is run by the city of New Orleans?

To all the idiots who say just get a bigger truck - it ain’t the size of the truck, it’s the size of the motha lovin tail. An 11’ gator is not something you just go pick up.

I don't see the issue here. This is not an endangered species and the meat isn't going to waste.
It's also a potential danger and too damn big to mess with alive. What they did made good sense.

What fricking tourist is wasting their time in Lakeview
And an alligator strolling around the streets isn't a tourist attraction

Did not bother to call carnival towing or a city tow truck. There goes a tourist attraction just when we need one most. I bet someone in the loop gets the hide and sells it.
