The Olympics are doomed. The host site is expected to do billions in improvements and new stadiums etc., and they don't generate enough revenue to cover these expenses. Lots of countries don't even bid because they don't want the headache or hassle. Pay close attention because we are watching the end of Olympics as we know it.
