that was posted earlier not 100% sure what that means

The National Weather Service has hydrologic projections for each river and forecasts where they may crest as well as potential impacts. You can check them out here:

River Crest Projections

The one you just saw basically says that at a 16 foot crest, those impacts will likely occur.

Because I right at Bluebonnet at Bayou Fountain It drains into Bayou Manchac by I-10, which then goes to the Amite I am sure there will be back flow but if you follow the Amite through Bayou Manchac all the way to Bayou Fountain around Bluebonnet and Seigan, will there really be that much to reach here?

There will be backwater, but maybe not as far upstream as you are. It will depend on how long the crest lasts and how long it takes the backwater to flow back upstream. The bayous/creeks aren't mapped based on an Amite flood crest; they're only mapped (with flood elevations determined) based on flood events within their own respective watersheds. So it's difficult to determine exactly what will happen with the backwater.

(I'm a civil engineer with no inside knowledge. This is just an opinion based on what I've determined from the FEMA maps and area topography.)

said state troopers are telling people on the interstate by Holden to be prepared to sleep in their cars tonight. That has to suck especially for those driving from out of state.

We left about noon from a subdivision north of 12 at Pumpkin Center. Water is all around flooding subdivisions on either side of mine. My house is still dry as of right now, but there's a lot of people way worse off than me.

I've never seen water anywhere close to this. We got 27" back during Isaac and almost 18" in March and our streets never flooded. I can't believe it.

That's just what the NWS gives as reference for different stages of the Amite River. It's supposed to get to 21.5 feet and that is the reference at 16 feet.

It doesn't take into account what is going on in other waterways. The projections do, but the reference doesn't. You wouldn't want to bet your life on it.

Is there a reasonably active map of which roads are flooded over?

Also... Water wells underwater sounds bad.

Several friends deciding to leave Central by car. Is it even possible to leave Central?

One friend's parents live on Joor and said the traffic is dead stopped so they can't leave just yet. But I thought Joor was impassable?

My father lives in Central. Said there is no way out right now.

ETA: Maybe Joor to Greenwell Springs?
