Think of it this way, when that water starts backing up its going to still follow the low spots. Creek will swell wide in some areas first. I'm not too concerned at this point with it. Water did make it in the house across the street from me in 2001 but barely made it across the street and into my yard.

friends deciding to leave Central by car. Is it even possible to leave Central?

We live off of Frenchtown (Planchet) and had to evacuate. Caught 3 different boats then someone at Frenchtown and the Thruway volunteered to take us somewhere. We are building a house on Core and are almost done so we had him take us there. We were able to take the Thruway and Sullivan to Joor then to Core. Water was over the intersection of the Thruway and GS Road but other than that it was fine.

Any idea on the Pelican Point Neighborhood?

We left this morn and it was on the verge of flooding.

My parents are evacuated to Joor and Core. Glad it is okay.

Friend told me she is trying to get to College Drive in BR from Sullivan. She didn't tell me which way she is going, but I didn't think it was possible.

ETA: Maybe Joor to Greenwell Springs?

Greenwell was flooded around Flannery. Don't think there's a way out by car at the moment unless you take the Central Thruway.

That's what I didn't get
It's about 10 miles from where the Amite meets Bayou Manchac to Me at Bayou Fountain
Not counting all the little other creeks and stuff off of Bayou Manchac before it meets Bayou Fountain
Just didn't see how there would be much, if any, backflow

It's still possible. I decided to hang around Nola and not head back. If it floods I will just have to file. Hoping it doesn't but I don't think it's gonna be 10 feet deep or anything. Water is gonna spread out when it overflows its banks.

OK TDNS (Tigerdroppings News Service), WAFB has gone back to regular programming -- so it's up to you to keep us informed this evening.

ONeal is a lake north of I-12. Water from the Amite is currently as far east as the BREC field between ONeal and Millerville with the Amite still expected to rise another .83 feet.

Waze is showing there's ways around road blocks. If anyone has an idea I just need to know is there water on:

1. Central Thruway?
2. Sullivan?
3. Wax Road?
4. Old wax Road? (Northwoods subdivision, etc)
