Re: Burbank and Bluebonnet

Are drains backing up a result of backwater? That confused me because I didn't know if it was simply a drainage issue. I thought the backwater was confined to the bayous but I know nothing about this.

Jiust checking in to tell everyone that is in danger to get out. We sandbagged and we just evacuated. Water most probably in our house now. (St.Amant) I'm physically and emotionally drained. I don't know what's in store but I'm glad my family got out safely. We can replace our things. I don't know many of you on this board but I genuinely love all of you for who you are and hope that we all will make it out in the end.

So GFY and STTDB.

little bit of hope for some - I caught part of JBE on WBRZ and he stated that those that do not have flood insurance because they are in an area that did not require insurance due to the flood maps will be eligible for assistance from FEMA. He said it was limited and individual max would be $30,000 (with proof of $$damage). I don't have a link but wanted to pass it on as I hope this will help a little. He stated you need to register with FEMA but that is all I heard as I had walked out of the room.

Really great news that will help more people than other think.

If you need help once the water goes down, I have a pickup truck. Email me at lsutigershark@gmail.com

The water was just getting to our unit in the very middle of the storage center about midway back at 2pm

here was no guarantee that the government would do that. So you slept soundly knowing you were 100% covered while the rest of us lived on the fact that this is a once in a 500 year storm. Doesn't mean you should be paid whole

And damn sure does not mean my tax dollars should paid out to those who did not take personal responsibility

it looks like if you flooded during Isaac, then you could flood again!

I live in Ascension and never flooded during Issac.

I live about 25 miles from Port Vincent and French Settlement so knock on wood there.

The Great Flood of 2016: Backflow Flooding Occuring (8/14/16)
Really too dark for pictures. I will tell you this. Water esp at Burbank and Siegen has risen pretty significantly in roughly 3.5 hours. That rise is creeping down towards Bluebonnet.

Thanks for the heads up - watching the gauge at that location, I expect that to continue.
