Don’t set a bad precedent. Show once the LSU game concludes.

It’s the fault of the planner, bride, husband, et al.

Stupider planning - Southern couple getting married on a Tiger game day or a Hispanic couple getting married on a UFC or boxing fight night?

Instead of asking bride or groom side, they ask if you want a Team Canelo shirt.

it's a power play by the bride, trying to establish dominance right out the blocks

Not looking to get divorced pal. Been there done that already

I can't imagine how that happened with the impeccable decision making skills that you've shown in this thread.

My sister-in-law decided that Saturday afternoon would be a great time to get married. Wedding starts at 2 pm

She probably picked her date and venue well before the schedule came out. You could assume Saturdays in the fall are football, but if you remove them and any Saturday that it's humid, you probably would have like 3 months of Saturdays that every wedding would be competing with.

I watched the 2015 Bama-TAMU game on my phone during a wedding. I put the phone down during the important parts, but I was discreet and no one batted an eye. Since the wedding is at 2, you'll probably be able to watch most of the game afterwards.

If the bride and groom are LSU people, then surely they'll have a TV on with the game at the reception. Every wedding I've been to where there is a big Bama or Auburn game and the bride and groom are alums or fans, they have had a tv on for people to watch if they want to. And you'll be able to drink for free in celebrating or to wash away your sorrows.

It is your wife’s immediate family. If it was some coworker or something you’d have a point. Just record the game and watch what you missed later. I do that for every Saints game when my family has stuff planned on Sundays. It is pretty easy to avoid results (stay off phone)

My sister-in-laws wedding is November 5th. I just know the Bama game is going to be night. Classic.

Stop watching football for a little while and you will realize how insignificant that shite is.

My entire Fall weekends used to be planned around various kickoff times. Changed that along with a few other things in my life. I now usually don’t even know who we’re playing until I start getting game text.

I need to find a happy medium.

Offer to cook something for the reception. That way you can be doing that and watching the game while the ceremony is going on and have a legit excuse

Some things are more important than football and deer hunting.

Just tell you're sister in law that you'll go to her next wedding to make up for missing this one.

Suck it up and go without complaint. If you don't go, you'll regret it. If you go but complain the whole time, you'll regret it.
