This. The sun is predicted to fuse all of its hydrogen and begin fusing heavier elements in a few billion years, which will cause it to swell into a red giant.

Still not great for earth as it will incinerate the inner planets, but it will be gradual unlike a supernova.

And yes, the only thing that might happen when the galaxies combine is a new stage of increased star formation as dust clouds and nebula combine.

Some say a comet will fall from the sky. Followed by meteor showers and tidal waves. Followed by fault lines that cannot sit still. Followed by millions of dumbfounded dipshits.

Some say we'll see Armageddon soon. I certainly hope we will. I sure could use a vacation from this stupid shite.
