Absolutely not
Actually they should, so these democrat cities can see its black people shooting them and black people that are leading their police departments.

Just come right out and say "we really don't care what happens if you guys kill a white guy, but if you kill a black guy ITS ON"

See. People don't really want equality.
Why does a minority victim get an enhanced investigation? Guess their lives matter more.

does this exist?

2. Release all body camera, citizens, and business camera footage; and 911 call audio to public.
ok

-To remove corrupt officers
-To de-escalate conflict of excessive force situations
-To provide medical attention for shot or injured suspects

seems reasonable

8.Enhance the collection of data on fatalities involving police officers.
9.Discourage so called “citizen’s arrest” or escalating or confronting acts within the community.
10.Interact and team up with the NAACP and other organizations that promote public safety and good citizenship of the public
ok

Shouldn’t cave to the demands of anyone using violence as leverage. This is downright wrong.
Posted on 6/4/20 at 11:12 am to LegendInMyMind
frick me. They’ll never be satisfied

Well, you didn’t negotiate with them before, either.
Except they have negotiated before and continue to involve them, and this list, purposefully or not, implies that most of this stuff is groundbreaking and is not already being done.

The NAACP promotes good citizenship? Aren't these the same tards who are defending the looters and rioters?
They wouldn't know a good citizen from Jeffrey Dahmer.

wanting preferential treatment for minorities...sounds racist
Posted on 6/4/20 at 11:16 am to LegendInMyMind
Just one thing that the NAACP needs to do to make this negotiation work....
Make sure no person of color ever commits another crime, then that’s a deal.
Don’t do criminal stuff, won’t get criminal repercussions.
Believe me, cops are not just arresting black citizens that are abiding by the law and being an appreciative American person.

Does this include minorities shot by minority officers?
Why wouldn't it? I haven't seen anyone deny that black officers are capable of police brutality too.
I think most of these are pretty reasonable. I would prefer the language say that all police shootings get a heightened investigation, and I think that names should only be released if the officers are reprimanded or charged. If it is found to be a justified shooting then names don't need to be released.

I agree, but this will not have the intended outcome they want
People see and hear what the police deal with on a day to day basis, sympathy will change with a quickness.

3. Immediately release the names of all officers, supervisors involved in all shootings.
Absolutely not and even suggesting it is absurd.
quote:
-To clarify the “Shoot to Kill” or “Shoot to Injure” decisions
Already done. There are no shoot to injure decisions.
quote:
-To test officers in shooting for alcohol and chemical substance
Isn't this already done?

This is a farce.

frick off

frick off
The rest I generally don't have an issue with. The last one is 100% on the NAACP. I've never known a police agency that doesn't want to help work with the community to promote safety.
Posted on 6/4/20 at 11:19 am to LegendInMyMind
1-4 seem ok, 5 -7 retarded, 8 is great and already done, 9 is whatever and 10 is not bad.
So 3 really stupid demands out of 10

I'm surprised no one has commented on this one.
I live in a rural part of the county. Police response time can be as much as 30-45 minutes at times. Being that a majority of "citizen's arrest" type events "in the community" are on private property, in homes, etc, I don't think discouraging me from "confronting acts" is a fair request.

Bad. There have to be exceptions to this for it to work.

Fine. Although most videos I've seen where a perp (or innocent citizen) gets shot, the cops almost immediately call for EMS.

5.Every minority shooting requires an elevated level of investigation within the city, county, state, national law enforcement.
Nope. That is a dangerously slippery slope right there. Just investigate all shootings similarly.

7. Implement implicit bias training for interacting with persons of color to include racial sensitivity, diversity training, and de-escalation strategies.
Good.

Good, although they may not like the results and can't ignore the facts of that data.

Too broad, or at least needs some exceptions. But not a bad base.

Good.

Isn't that a double standard? Let's say two meth'ed up guys are being chased, one white, one African American. They eventually turn around and pull guns out and take aim at the police. Both are shot. Only the African American shooting is investigated at a higher level?
