The Advocate newspaper, New Orleans & Baton Rouge, laying off 10% of their employees

They call it furloughing, but it’s the same thing. Those employees remaining will go to 4-day workweeks.

The majority of their reporters are on the payroll of Gov. Honor Code anyway. They don’t need an Advocate paycheck.
