Imagine still wanting weed/hemp products banned in 2025.
One has to be a sorry sack of shite to have that view point. And of course, he's using the classic "think of the kids"
.
Meanwhile, walk down any alcohol aisle and you can find shite like Sunny D vodka seltzers and others that look like they were designed with the intent just to attract younger people. Such a played out, tired excuse. Only a feeble minded fool would believe such an argument now days.

I smoke all the time and I don’t like the direction the weed stuff has taken. It’s way too strong and accessible for young people. It’s produced and marketed as candy. Where it’s legal the smell ruins beautiful public spaces. While it might not be addicting it’s absolutely habit forming and detrimental to young people who need to be building good habits.
It should be much more restricted than it is, but I think should be legal beyond those restrictions.

quote:agree completely on the strength. The race to 30-40% THC is a bad idea and is counterproductive to a healthy market and responsible use. As for accessibility, that’s on the dispensary and every one I’ve been to has been militant on ID’s and security. Contrast that with beer being sold everywhere (grocery stores for example) where it’s easy to get if underage and the hard seltzers are marketed with kid friendly flavors LOL

Is the THC or the delta stuff more expensive to get down to 0.3% in these various products than leave in product at a higher %? Or are the active ingredients so cheap that even blowing up the %s wouldn’t be noticed by the places making them?
I have seen some new reports in a few states where raids of convenience stores or similar by police or some regulatory body find that the actual amounts in some of these products have been found to be a lot higher than whatever % is legal and much much higher in a few cases.
Usually you would think that would be costing the person money based on the extra amount of a key ingredient thrown in unless it’s cheaper to make them at higher % levels (like the source is naturally at a higher % requiring additional costs to reduce), the THC & other similar ingredients are so cheap in general that the increase in costs for such higher %s is negligible, or the people making the stuff stay stoned and don’t notice or care.

A ban is the only way to truly protect kids from accessing these products,” Patrick said. “We have age limits on alcohol and cigarettes, but we know that does not stop kids from getting them either.
Alcohol is worse for you on almost every metric. If he were serious he would be banning alcohol too.
That said, Abbott is right here. Follow existing federal law that legalized THC and treat it like alcohol and tobacco.

they are all made from hemp, processed into a concentrate. The higher % THC the better they sell. I’d be surprised if these products remain as easily available in gas stations as they are currently…I assume they check ID but I don’t know as I’ve never bought that stuff

Dan Patrick is garbage, and no doubt part of the reason I can't buy a bottle of bourbon or tequila in Texas on a Sunday.
I'm a little shocked y'all haven't kicked this a-hole idiot out of the Lt Gov chair yet. What's the holdup? He's a piece of shite.

Both Dan Patrick and Ken Paxton do their damndest to hold Texas back. They are both tools of the highest order. Pleasantly surprised by how Abbot has handled this.

Big Pharma is 100% behind the THC and Kratom war.

True, but cannabis is not the benign substance some make it out to be, either. To be clear, I think it should be legal, but people need to be aware of the risks.

yet both he and patrick keep getting re-elected and Paxton survived an indictment where they pretty much had him dead to rights until the Republican Party intervened
Louisiana is rightfully criticized for electing imbeciles but we ain’t alone in that

Patrick honestly sounds like a fricking retard and that he isn’t in favor of freedom. Maybe he should move to North Korea
