Live in Chicago, have lost power for a few hours several times this winter. Our power grid is just as vulnerable to blizzards, don’t let them tell you otherwise.

Are you trying to say states like NY, Mass. and Illinois never lose power during blizzards and ice storms. Tell you are wrong. They do.

Whaaaat????

The last time anything of significance happened was for the Super Bowl in Dallas.

Anything of THIS magnitude you have to start going back to 1989

Yea i wasn’t sure if alltiger is caught an area hit by an actual long term outage versus rolling blackouts and just angry and lashing out emotionally or just getting political. I have already been amazed at a couple of neighbors in a neighborhood only group taking opportunity of a part of neighborhood being out for awhile for a reason other than rolling blackouts to make their issue political only because Texas leadership has been critical of Biden’s decrees & want to try & ridicule them not help neighbors right now. When asked about it they “have read some articles” is about as much detail as they like to offer.

Texas apparently wants the Federal government to come in and straighten their power issues out.

This might be the most ignorant post I've ever seen on this board. That's something.

You said it yourself, these cities that deal with it every year are prepared for it.

Texas has 12,000 MW of wind power out of action... Went too green. Them East Coasters just want you to go Green - not them. They keepin them fossil fuels cause it gets cold as shite up there.

Ha. I was going to say this, but we don't particularly do well in hurricanes as well.

You might be well regarded but ill informed or not very bright. I’m going with the latter.

Speaking of not very bright, why don't you go back and take a second look at what I was replying to.

Northern states also rely more heavily on natural gas, fuel oil and steam to heat homes which do not put heavy demands on the electrical grid.

This is a once every 10 year storm. They should not prepare for this. It would be ridiculously expensive to
do that.

And it seems like just about every year or two, there is a "heat wave" in the summer and Chicago and Boston and New York can't keep the power on then either.

Believe me, I’d rather live in a state that has some electrical issues in a once-in-a-decade winter storm event than any of the liberal cesspools that you just listed.
