You are the VP of the company doing the hiring. Why would you do this?

Why is the free market not sorting these things (fake degrees, lesser performance)?Competition is pretty good at filtering this. Where is competition?
As a VP of company, why would you ever allow ‘lesser than’ in your organization? Your reward structure and ambition for higher rests on rock solid performance of very capable people. Makes little sense for ‘lesser than’ to be invited to infiltrate the org.

At least the stores won’t have to worry about soap or deodorant being stolen

But there are millions and millions of H1B visa recipients that are given jobs in America over our own citizens. A lot of these jobs are created when our government gives these companies the funds necessary for a new project that promises to create thousands of jobs. Only for the companies to then hire H1B workers instead of Americans. Do you see this as an issue?
They also work for less… suppressing the wages of citizens. I’m all for bringing in talent and smart immigration, but as usual it’s abused and overdone

I stopped going to DFW area, even though it's the closest metro and airport to me. I'll gladly drive an extra hour one way to not have to be around stank arse mother frickers that refuse to assimilate.

There are now too many Indians in Sugar Land, and they've heavily shifted North into Fulshear and Katy down here.
I’ve worked for over 10 years now with an engineer who is from India who is good to work with. We used to BS a lot flying out to West TX. One day we were discussing how we chose to live where we do, as both of us moved to Houston suburb for work.
When I told him we picked Sugar Land, he said that while he and his wife loved the things Sugar Land had to offer, he said there were too many of “his own people”. He was afraid that if they moved to SL, his kids would naturally, as it human nature, gravitate towards hanging out with just their own kind at school and in the neighborhoods. He wanted his kids to grow up and assimilate with “white Americans”.

Cheap labor.
I know the answer. They are usually talented, too. If not, enough for the price.
I had a person based out of Dallas at $250k salary & burden and another, on my same global team, based out of Delhi at $80k, same role, quality of performance and outcomes.
Moral of story:
Stay hungry Americans. Keep growing, developing, and working hard in school and in jobs. There are people around the world who are hungry, talented, work hard and willing to take less for it. And technology will exacerbate this.
Free market!

Can’t blame the Indians for wanting to be around likeminded people who love cows as much as they do, but do they realize that Texans just love eating them?
