You guys notice this? Your average poor will massively over tip at restaurants.

Unless you’re bussing tables or stealing and eating leftover scraps from other tables before you drive back to your trailer up on blocks, nobody notices this.

You sound like trash.

Statistics are strange in that 20% of the time I don't understand what 50% of them are referencing. And the other 90% of the time, they are 10%.

I tip well because I served before and know what it's like. Unless bad service of course. You want to justify being a cheap piece of shite basically, but you aren't correct

So what’s the standard for tipping now, in 2019?

I’m talking about the baseline, where we begin, regardless of how good the service is or the waitresses disposition.

No. It's 15.

I tip $5, 18.5%, and then multiples of $10 up to $100.

I tip well, but I'm not tipping wait staff on bottles of wine ordered at dinner.

I'm not being penalized for making their jobs easier.

Waiters and waitresses trying to name [and increase] their own gratuity percentage is no different than fast food workers trying to increase minimum wage.

The funny part is that the only waiters trying to increase the standard are the ones who suck at their job. That's like complaining about how small your honorable mention trophy is.

Good waiters get good tips anyways.

I don't really pay attention to what other people are doing when I am having dinner or out eating lunch somewhere.

Maybe if they are poor, they saved up for that one event and unlike a lot of people who are not poor (maybe lower middle class or new money people who don't know the appropriate behaviors of their new world), who doesn't realize that if you bitch about the tip or leave a small or no tip at all, if you can't pay the appropriate tip amount then you shouldn't be eating there.
