Mine are 8 and 5.
The oldest still wants me to rock her for a few minutes every night before bed.
The youngest is tied to my wife most of the time. This week she was sick and wanted to rock with me. I'll gladly take the chance of getting sick to rock her.
They both will watch LSU football or hockey games with me. Just wish they wouldn't talk the whole time. It's like it's ingrained in them to talk during sports.

My oldest is 14. She used to be sweet, too.
Not so much anymore.

It goes quickly. Don’t be afraid to spend money on the magical things while they’re young

Four has been my favorite age yet. They are so much fun and so sweet. My heart explodes with love and pride on a daily basis. I know time is fleeting so I’m trying to really be present and enjoy my son while he’s little.
Being a parent has made me appreciate my parents more. I finally understand how much they love me.

Cherish these years because those sweet lil angels will drive your wife insane, and you'll be caught in the middle!
Seriously though, there will be extreme moments but the love of a daughter is like no other.

Beautiful. My baby girls, now in their 20s are my pride and joy.

Thank you for saying this. I sometimes feel a little ridiculous for things like $90/ea Polar Express tickets (with scenic views of New Orleans ghetto), etc., but there’s such a limited window where magic is real. He loves it, and I love seeing his awe and excitement.

She's definitely going to change, you'll always miss whar you have now,but the good news is she'll always be daddy's little girl.

Brother, you've got about 12 good years

My oldest just turned 12 and, unfortunately, they do not stay like that. She is still a great little girl and I'm wildly proud of her, but she is very mature for her age which leads her to believe she can speak to her mother like she is an adult sometimes. I have a wonderful relationship with her. She and my wife...not so much. Most of the time they're good. Every now and then, they are at each other's throats.
Those moments in your OP are worth it though. I never thought I was capable of feeling the way I do about anyone else until I held my little girl for the first time.

Yep. Until she reaches 12/13. Then a demon will possess her. You MAY get the sweet version once in a blue moon.

My 3yo little angel goes to sleep in my arms almost every night. My oldest is 12, and I missed these times when he was young. I'm soaking it all in this time around. I know it doesn't last forever.

Just wait until grandchildren. They are the sweetest ever!

I really have the sweet and sour at home. 15 and 6. You want to shoulder check the 15 year old and the 6 year old tells you things that melt your heart. I hear it gets better when they get past high school. I'm just waiting for that lol.

My daughter was a beast ages 2-5, terror on wheels. Shes a sweet heart now at 10 and has been pretty amazing years 5-10. I know puberty is coming and considering how bad she was emotionally 2-5yrs old....I'm expecting the worst. Lets just hit pause right now. I could live this year for the rest of my life....
