You should’ve shown them Back the Future instead.

Every cowboy in the 1890's wore skinny jeans. We drank straight Flint Lock whiskey, gambled hard, fought in the street and fricked in our boots.

It is a movie de jour. It's really not that great. The acting is average and the story is generic. We liked it because we were young when it came out. Animal House us another movie from back then that really isn't that good but we geezers still love. You're old.

The only thing you got right here is the geezer part.

I don't know what your definition of good is as it relates to comedies, but Animal House is one of the classics.

I don't think he is in Georgia. He said they were watching the movie in the same place.

It doesn't hold up. At all. Some movies do, but that one doesn't.

It’s WAS selected for the Smithsonian.

I showed it to my 13 and 16 year olds and they loved it. They are around all the time and have my wife and I’s sense of humor though. They both have commented on liking 80s and 90s movies more than any newer stuff because it didn’t have all PC-ish comedy boundaries you see now in movies.

I'm not criticizing the movie in its day - I just don't believe it holds up that well.

Kids these days don’t get the older movies. I asked if they had ever watched The Toy or Wally World Vacation and they had never even heard of those movies. I get that the two show two boobies but For kids today to not even understand movies like those is crazy to me

Dude, those movies are pushing 30-40 fricking years old. When you were a kid (in the 80's, I assume), did you enjoy spending time watching Grandpa's movies from the late 40s and 50s? I think those kids are fricking idiots, but that's just because they're 13 and a 13 year old's natural state is to be dumb as frick. However, it's not strange at all for them to not like movies they have no connection to socially. That's just a different era to them.

At least they're not milennials.

You showed a couple of middle schoolers a movie about a highschooler and expected them to relate to it? I would think the comedy in that movie is a little above their paygrade.

Why are you hanging out with your neighbor's grandson?

When I first read this thread I thought you were hanging out with your grandson. I wasn't really paying very much attention. Then I read the comments and realized you were hanging out with a neighbor's grandson......

I think you're a perv.
