My neighbor’s grandson visits all of the time from Georgia. We take him fishing, etc whenever he visits them. Good kid.

He brought his buddy down to visit and they wanted to watch a movie tonight. They picked some stupid move called Rainbow Tribe. They are both 13 years old so I gave into the movie.

After about 30 minutes into the movies, I was antsy as hell to show them a movie I grew up with.. they gave in so I rented the movie on the Roku.

30 minutes into Farris Buellers Day off they were done.. they did not like the movie at all.. they actually hated it and were making fun of me for recommending this movie.

When I grew up, this was one of the best films ever. They absolutely hated it and thought it was stupid.

It’s just weird to me how time have changed.

I guess I am just getting old as frick and kids these days are just very different.

It was kind of a sad moment to be honest with yall

It doesn't hold up.

At all.

Some movies do, but that one doesn't.

That movie was on TNT all the time when I would fake sick in middle school. Always seemed to come on after The Price is Right.

More of a high school movie. They may still be too young to appreciate it. Don’t give up hope yet. They are still adolescent

They probably just thought it was weird that their grandpa's neighbor wanted to hang out with them.

How cool could Ferris Bueller be when he doesn't have an iPhone or a PS4 or XBox?

Not at all. They wanted to hang with me and watch a movie because I find them big arse fish to catch

I can almost guarantee they'll like movies like Ferris when they get older. I watch planes, trains, and automobiles every Thanksgiving with my 18-30 year old siblings/cousins

ETA: I strongly dislike FBDO though

It is a movie de jour. It's really not that great. The acting is average and the story is generic. We liked it because we were young when it came out. Animal House us another movie from back then that really isn't that good but we geezers still love. You're old.

PT&A is a spectacular movie. I just don’t think they will understand a movie like that

Think of it like this. We used to hide penthouse in the woods in a mangled styrofoam cooler. Today, these little shits have pornhub. They would laugh at the thought of going outside to look at porn.

FBDO is a great movie. But to today's little turds, there isn't enough CGI. Or anal.

John Candy was a goddamn treasure and probably the only Hollywood death I've truly been bummed about.

Kids these days don’t get the older movies. I asked if they had ever watched The Toy or Wally World Vacation and they had never even heard of those movies. I get that the two show two boobies but For kids today to not even understand movies like those is crazy to me
