What is there to understand about Ferris Bueller's Day Off?

It doesn't have much of a plot. Nor is it intended to. It's just about a 16 year old who causes all kinds of trouble when he skips school.

Maybe the kids are just off their ADD medicine during the summer. Classic movies are timeless. Ferris Bueller falls into the fringes of a classic. Sure there are some "80's" things in there, but overall, it has stood the test of time.

After all, without Ferris Bueller, none of us would know who the sausage king of Chicago is.

And one of my favorite movies is The Graduate, which came out about the time I was born. So, their age shouldn't matter that much. It's just their attention span.

this is one of the stupidest things to get mad about I've ever heard of, kids from another generation having different fastest in movies than you.

Is there anything Baby Boomers won't cry about?

You should have gone for Fast Times at Ridgemont High. That movie would appeal to 13 year olds.

Ghost busters lasted 20 mins for a 10,7, & 6 year old.

The 7 year old(girl) left 10 mins in, the other two dropped off at 18 and 20. Even complained about it 2 weeks later "you aren't going to put that dumb ghost movie on again"

My kids (both in high school) love this movie.

They do note it would never fly with cell phones.

How cool could Ferris Bueller be when he doesn't have an iPhone or a PS4 or XBox?

What does he even do for fun?

I know the feeling

I tried watching Shawshank the other day with my 5 year old and he just wasn’t into it

I figured the scene where the Sisters brutally rape Andy would draw him in but for some reason it really disturbed him

Supposed to say "different *tastes in movies"

Leave it to a Baby Boomer to not have enough logical reasoning skills to spot an obvious auto-correct error. Doesn't take much brain power to realize what I meant.

You must have had a grizzly bear step on your head up there in Alaska. That or you're going senile, old man,

Never liked it, and I grew up in it’s time. Always hated movies where the characters are too cool for everything. Like, he can figure out how to con everyone around him, but doesn’t know running a car in reverse won’t take miles off? Give me the Goonies over that pile of shite. You know what else grinds my gears.... the Breakfast Club. Why people beat off to that movie I’ll never know.

Your previous postings gave me no reason to give you the benefit of the doubt, Gomer.

After about 30 minutes into the movies, I was antsy as hell to show them a movie I grew up with.. they gave in so I rented the movie on the Roku.

30 minutes into Farris Buellers Day off they were done.. they did not like the movie at all.. they actually hated it and were making fun of me for recommending this movie.

They are kids and you nagged them into stopping the movie they were watching to show them a movie they had no intentions of watching. Most people would hate the movie out of spite if this happened to them.

You should have said "promise me you'll never watch a movie called Ferris Bueller's Day Off" and they would have rented it themselves after you went to bed.
