There are multiple teen suicides per day according to statistics. Why did they report on this one? Why not the hundreds of others this year alone?

That pisses me off greatly. Guy bullies are too much of a pussy to pick on people who will fight back, but girl bullies are much worse mentally. They destroy each other, and the girls can't do anything about it.
If she only would've put down the phone and got rid of FB. Damn

Jesus Christ that's terrible man. Sorry to hear that. Terrible to think this world can push people to that.

Thank you ... he had a lot of demons from Vietnam that he was never able to shake.

In this case, she was 18, her family was willing to comment, and most importantly there was the aspect of cyberbullying, which is an increasingly hot topic. Melania Trump has even discussed this being her focus as first lady, which increases the National relevancy.
And just look at this topic, we are almost 140 posts in so clearly it's a newsworthy topic. What do you expect given all of that?

What a beautiful young lady. I hope her family will be able to find peace and that hopefully God is protecting this young lady now.
This really scares me now that I'm a daddy to a nine month old girl. I need to upbring my daughter to the best of my ability to not be a bully but not be bullied either. But there so many things now that make bullying easy.

My daughter just turned 10 month old and shite like this terrifies me. I'll kill any kid that bullies my baby.

She was bullied.. so she bullied her family into watching her kill herself?

Everyone gets bullied. Raise your kid to shake that shite off

I just can't get over how ruthless and relentless the bullying has to be. To drive someone to want to kill themselves, it's just so heartbreaking. In high school, I had shite done to me that could he viewed as being bullied and I also did shite to other people that could probably be viewed as bullying but even then, it's not like the shite was constant. I cant really imagine what people could drive people to behave that way towards a person, to make them want to kill themselves, and I can't imagine what that girl was going through
Just truly awful

I know that man lol
What I am failing to grasp is why it's so popular on social media now and why it's easier to do

To call it "bullying" is absurd.

My oldest daughter and some of her friends were relentlessly bullied by a lone loser sociopath. The whole school rallied around them and the kid was thrown out of school (public school too). He will be a serial killer some day.
Kids today aren't a tenth as heartless and shitty as we were, imho. Generally if a "weaker" child is victimized over their appearance or something that is just really cruel, the cool kids will rally around them. That's been my experience anyhow.

Did you read the article? She had been bullied on FB, in person, and over texting
An app can try to mask it, but that time stamp and the carrier are an easy trace.

And even then, it's safe to assume that those who were bullying her on Facebook and IRL were the ones sending the messages so you can narrow it down even further
