This is ridiculous. Somewhere I read it was because Dallas Police thought she was a runaway. Not sure if they had viewed video of her leaving with an adult male at the time this was done, but talk about passing the buck and wasting precious time to help this girl.

I remember hearing about this story when it first happened, but the details from the lawyer on how she was found are new.

Authorities in OKC issued press releases and news bulletins while she was missing because she was thought to be in that area. How did they know her possible location if she disappeared into thin air without a trace? Because she had done it before.

Why did Dallas officials tell the dad to contact North Richland Hills PD? They should have done more, but her history indicated it was a runaway. I can’t find any reports from the time using words like kidnapped, forced, lured, etc. Dallas police were lazy, but their excuse has some merit. She ran away from home again. The last sighting of her was in Dallas, but her home is in another jurisdiction.

How did her parents find her pictures online? My guess is the first time she disappeared to Oklahoma she voluntarily prostituted herself. It’s a troubling thought, but it happens all the time with troubled teens and runaways. My guess is they searched online postings for escorts. They saw an advertisement with her pictures. Her face cropped or edited, but she had a distinctive birthmark, scar, tattoo, or something to identify her.

She could have still been held against her will and forced to do awful things. Just because she voluntarily left thinking she was getting involved in something bad doesn’t mean she deserved to be trapped in something far worse.

However, portraying her as an innocent girl kidnapped and forced into slavery isn’t accurate either. There isn’t an international sex slave organization grabbing innocent kids off the streets of Dallas.

The lesson should be there are bad people. They use social media and the internet to meet, identify, and groom vulnerable individuals. Monitor your kids phones, tablets, and computers should be the lesson here.

WTF man? That is horrible. This is something that could happen anywhere in public. If you are a father with a daughter this has to be terrifying to read.

And Oklahoma is not a great place. It has the most meth users per capita. Its a drop off point for cartels and these animals are going anywhere to kidnap girls. How can people live with themselves doing that? I'd enjoy seeing the dad make them eat a fricking shotgun then blow their fricking head off.

Well considering they advertised her for sex how hard would it be for the detective to simply set up an appointment to have sex with her. They would tell him where to meet her. Not that damn hard to figure out. Captain obvious.
