Katrina devastated the spirit of New Orleans and had a deep impact on all New Orleanians. If another Katrina hit tomorrow, I think most people at this point would just say “oh well”.

The victims are in the radio right now doing an interview.
It’s heartbreaking to listen to their story and how this incident tore their lives up.

Cantrell really blew it here. She didn’t care what they had to say and didn’t reach out to them when she had a direct chance to do it.

It’s all about criminal rights to these people. Victims don’t matter to people like Cantrell.

The chances the levees in NOLA break again are very very low

First thing I thought of and didn't know about Happy Raptor being a distillery. The way she lit up

I agree. But that wasn’t my point. If New Orleans was devastated again like it was in 2005, most people would not care. NOLA has lost all of its reverence.

People desensitized to crime think things like carjackings are no big deal. Thoughts like:

"So what he pointed a gun at these ladies. He didn't shoot them."

"A car is just a thing. It's not worth putting someone in prison."

"He's just 13. A child should be cared for by his family."

I mean, each of these statements is technically true, but allowing them to rule is what takes a civilized society into chaos. A 13 year old committing his FIFTH armed carjacking is insane.

Of course she didn't. In fact, I expect her to go after the victims themselves here. This will, in no way, be any sort of mea culpa. This is going to be a teenaged girl lashing out.

Not just New Orleans. If Another 9-11 happened to New York, I think much of the country would go “Meh, Saudis did us a favor “.

Does NO S&WB operate those gates and pumps? It doesn't seem out of the realm of possibilities to me. Those frickers could screw up a metal ball with a rubber mallet.

Are you kidding me? The amount of federal and prog money that would flow into the city would be mind boggling. Guys like Soros aren't going to let a controllable city like New Orleans ever die. And you'd still have the purple-haired, pierced weirdos living off of daddy's credit cards that would come in and build half a million $$ houses.

Not really sure who has control over the gates and pumps in the mist of a CAT 4 or CAT 5 Hurricane...If its the Corps of Engineers or SWB

They say all those things until the crime happens to one of them. Then its "we need more funding for law enforcement" being screamed from the rooftops.

It's worse than that. They want to take the guns away from people who didn't do anything. People who want guns to protect themselves because the authorities won't.
