I'm a teacher. I have not missed a day of work. Students submit their assignments. I grade them. We do live sessions. We talk on the phone. School never ended for us.

that's what prisoners are for.
but the lazy fricking teachers and state workers shouldn't be drawing a paycheck. They don't deserve it in the least.

I've seen it mentioned quite a few times in the OT that state employees aren't working due to Covid 19. My job requires that I work closely with several state agencies in Louisiana, and they are definitely not closed due to the virus. Every time I call one of the agencies somebody answers the phone, when I email somebody at one of them they have emailed me back right away, and I've received correspondences in the mail from the agencies subsequent to the Covid 19 outbreak. I've also gone to a few agencies to drop off documents and there are always people there. So not sure why OP or other posters are saying state agencies are closed.
And if you don't think teachers are working right now then you probably don't have a kid or at least a kid that's in school.

My wife is a kindergarten teacher and spends a full 8 hrs a day simultaneously reviewing incoming work and preparing future lessons. You don’t know what you’re talking about. BTW ask your kids if they have any work to be doing. You’re probably one of the trash parents who have no clue what’s going on.

why would people that do barely any work for barely half the year do extra work.
It isn't in their taxpayer funded DNA. They aren't just worthless they cost money.

All the non essentials should be picking up trash right now. And put a chain on their leg so they can’t get loose

Teachers are working. Any state employees that can't vpn from home are being forced to use all of their leave.
I understand your point and there are job opportunities out there (essential services are hiring).
Just clarifying that state workers arent just getting paid as normal to do nothing.

I would like to formally nominate the OP as a volunteer to test vaccines for Covid 19.
