I see one kid had bullet fragments in his neck. That is terrible.

What were the other two student injuries? A panic attack and a hangnail?

Need more details.

Very convenient timing for a teacher to botch the handling of a firearm. Tin foil NRA's unite.

Alexander was pointing his gun at the ceiling when it fired. Pieces of the ceiling fell to the ground.

A news release from the Seaside Police Department said no one suffered "serious injuries." One 17-year-old boy suffered moderate injuries when fragments from the bullet ricocheted off the ceiling and lodged into his neck, the student's father, Fermin Gonzales, told KSBW.

The teacher had just told the class that he wanted to make sure his gun wasn't loaded, when the gun fired, according to Gonzales.

Everyone in the classroom was stunned, and the teacher, who is a reserve officer for the Sand City Police Department, apologized.

But no one at the school checked to make sure that all of the students were uninjured, Gonzales said. The school day resumed as normal, and Seaside Police Department officers launched an investigation.

The 17-year-old boy's parents were shocked when he returned home with blood on his shirt and bullet fragments in his neck. The student's parents rushed him to a hospital for X-rays.

"He's shaken up, but he's going to be OK," Gonzales told KSBW. "I'm just pretty upset that no one told us anything and we had to call the police ourselves to report it."

100% this was a planned accident to "start a conversation"

The teacher was about to use the gun for a demonstration about how to disarm someone, according to Gonzales.

Why is he doing this in a public school?

Teachers are not armed not and it's happening. Gonna happen if they are armed as well. Probability, averages and such.... the paradox continues!

No these are not the folks you want armed in schools. There are plenty of responsible firearm owners willing and capable of handling the job.

This dip shite should be arrested and charged. There are no accidents when it comes to firearms. PERIOD.

Go back to wherever you came from shillbot.

We don't need your kind around here.

ETA: And change your title. Nowhere in the article does it say 3 students were injured.

Reminds me of the DEA agent who told a room of school kids "I'm the only one in this room professional enough, that I know of, to carry a Glock .40."

BOOM! Shot himself in the leg.

This.

Unacceptable.

You don’t point the gun to the ceiling and pull the trigger to “check if the gun is loaded”.

Oh, did it now? Funny. I’ve never had a gun just start shooting.

Alexander is a dumbass, used a loaded gun in a demonstration, and accidentally pulled the trigger.

He should be fired immediately.

He's a reserve police officer. The EXACT type of people that everyone is saying we should arm and put in schools.
