Actually, he wasn't certain. He decided to fire it to tell if it was loaded or not.

Bingo.

I just want to know why this idiot was messing around with his firearm in a classroom. His gun should never come off of safety and out the holster unless there is a school shooter on the loose.

I mean did you read the article or anything? He was teaching "gun safety".
Why he used a real gun, no idea.
Why he fired it into the ceiling to see if it was loaded, no idea.
How nobody noticed a student had a bullet fragment fly into his neck causing him to bleed, no idea.

I love the people claiming false flag on this Dumbassery as if the progressives planned this.
The paranoia of the reactionaries prevents them from dealing with reality.

I read the article. Why was he teaching gun safety at a high school in the first place? I'm pretty pro-gun, but that is not the time, place, or person to be teaching gun safety.

He was pulling out his dick.
Big man with gun.

People are properly trained all the time, and still frick up because they dont follow their training
Actually proper training can be offered, If the individual then fricks up and does stupid shite counter to his OFFERED proper training he/she then proves that in fact that training was wasted on that individual because they did not accept it and apply it.
They are not properly trained.

Are you seriously arguing he cant be properly trained?
I never said or insinuated that. EVER. You're grasping.

Checking to see if his gun was loaded by pulling the trigger is so so stupid. Drop the mag. Rack the slide a bunch of times. Lock the slide back and look through the chamber to see if there's a bullet jammed in there. Check your magazine to see if there's a missing bullet. All steps one should take before pulling the trigger. That's literally the final step one would take.

There are no accidents when it comes to firearms. PERIOD
Training does not prevent accidents. It reduces them.
I know you right wingers are terrified every time someone misuses a gun that libs are going to come after them, but going to the extreme like this and saying that "proper gun owners never make mistakes" is stupid and pointless and actually hurts your position.
Why not just be frank and say that the freedom to own guns comes at the cost of accidents and innocent lives, and that is the sacrifice we must make to keep tyranny at bay?

The beauty of this story, is that it can't really be argued that well by either side.
Republicans saying teacher's should be allowed to carry guns, he is a teacher.
Democrats saying cops have the guns needed to protect us, he was a cop.

Why is it so hard to believe a properly trained person can frick up? Is the training so good that it renders its receiver so impervious to deviation from the training?
Saying a trained gun owner used his gun in a way inconsistent with the training isn't an indictment of the training. It's an indictment of the person who did something he was trained not to do.
This. I witnessed a couple accidental discharges in the military. One was fired right through a group of soldiers and luckily missed everyone. Both guys were trained and qualified on their weapons. They were just being idiots and not paying attention to what they were doing. It happens when you're dealing with humans.

I'm not saying the proper gun owners will never make a mistake. They make mistakes all the time. A mistake is failing to properly handle a firearm. It is far different from an accident. If you do not see that there is nothing I have for you.

So a gun fires in a classroom and police aren't called? Nobody else in the school investigated? In California? Kid was bleeding and nobody tended to him?
I'm calling bullshite on this story

I swear the intelligence level in this world is on a sharp downward turn. I think the population is too dense.... in both senses.
