Anyone dealt with a tattle tale in the work place? I had a good laugh over lunch with a person I used to work with at a former company. This person still works there and spilled some funny stuff about how this one particular brown nosing type dude who thinks he's climbing the ladder was emailing the top person everyday a list of people who left early, took long breaks, etc... Mind you this is a professional service business where nearly every employee is making six figures plus not a clock punching operation with hourly workers.

Will be your boss one day. But keep taking long lunches and keep coming in late. I'm sure the higher ups love that more than his tattling

did he ever stop and think that they'd look at this as a very inefficient way of spending his time? If you're keeping track of all that when are you doing real work

I don't work there baw. This dude won't ever be anyone's boss. He's Dwight a schrute without the humor.

I would best describe him as a carbon copy of that weasel on the King of Kong documentary who followed the players around saying hey we may have a possible kill screen here guys.

If tattling helps my ability to improve my livelihood, then I’ll snitch in a second. You don’t want to get in trouble, then get in line and stop screwing off. This is work, not high school. You don’t get points for being the cool guy who bends the rules.

Famous last words. Some higher ups say they don't like kiss asses but they actually do. Once more is they like efficient workers who hold others accountable. This dude sounds like he is doing both

This. It boggles my mind why people would rather make friends with coworkers than do their job like they're supposed to. They would rather be cool than do their job. Then they bitch and moan about getting passed over for promotions

The brown nose actually has a good idea. He's running everybody else off so he'll be the only one left to promote.

I hate the guy or gal that thinks that CCing all the bosses on an email will get them results any faster.

So watching people come in and out of the lobby all day is efficient? People take breaks at different hours, and lunch at different times. In order for this guy to monitor all that, it's basically all he is doing.

There was supposedly a guy here where I work that used to keep a journal of stuff like that and send it to his supervisor once a week. He was unemployed before I came along.

Unless you're a secretary in the lobby area, you're an extreme waste of time and space in a company y if that's the kind of crap you're doing and not your actual job.

I was at work doing some online training, kept failing the test (regulatory bs, questions had no answers in the material) and I softly dropped a few F bombs under my breath to myself. Someone overheard me and tattled

Got busted and corrected out by a manager. like what the frickkkkkk

There are certainly times where this is an efficient way to do things.

When it's someone hasn't responded timely or someone who habitually does not respond timely, and I have an email to send them that requires a timely response, I'll absolutely CC their boss on it.
