This is so dumb. People are so caught up on hurting someone's "feelings". It's nothing that can be gauged, it's not something that can be proven, and honestly a hurt feeling is good for human growth. Life is so fricking easy for people we're going out of our way to manufacture conflict and purpose. This world is insane.

have fun that case. Target will just say its a store policy. The most likely scenario is people just go on with their business because no wants to be in target bathroom larger than need be.

Until now if a man went into the ladies room and was discovered, there would be consequences ranging anywhere from removal from the store to even being arrested. The possibility of having to face these consequences I'm sure stopped many pervs from ever trying it.
But now, everything has been turned on it's head. Those pervs not only can go into the ladies room whenever they want, they can do so knowing that if anyone says anything about it, they'll be labeled as a bigot and have to face the consequences that come from that.

My problem is the courts are getting into an area that's way out of their league.
You can change your gender at your own whim. It's called being nonbinary. You can be a woman, and five minutes later be a man. And NO ONE can tell you that you're wrong. It's something that can't be proven or disproven, ESPECIALLY since gender and sexual orientation are two completely different things.
ETA: The Fourth Circuit said "gender", more specifically sexual identity like being transgendered, falls under Title IX, which specifically addresses "sex".

I do not think at any point in time will a man dressed as a man going into a woman's bathroom is going to be more acceptable.
Now, a man dressed as a woman, sure it might be more acceptable. But I doubt anyone does anything about this now.

If a private business wants to do it, then so be it. However it shouldn't be federally mandated.
I still think it's ridiculous we are wasting time and money on this. They make up 0.03% of the US population (less than 1,000,000 people out of 320,000,000+). They can use the bathroom according to their genitals like they've been doing.

But when they opened that door there was the very real possibly of quite negative consequences. That deterrent is being removed. Now all a perv has to do is claim they "identify" as a woman and they can go hang out as long as they want in the ladies room without any fear of negative consequences.

While I don't necessarily disagree, you're now giving them an open invitation to do so without repercussion. What if I'm a guy that just likes to watch women (or worse) little girls use the bathroom? The only "qualification" I have to have under Target's policy for just walking into the women's restroom is that I subjectively "feel" I'm a woman. If I understand the policy correctly, there's nothing Target will do to stop me. Previously a male in the women's bathroom would be asked to leave immediately or have the cops called on them. Now, evidently neither one of those reactions are appropriate.
So again, if I'm a fricking pervert that likes to watch little girls piss (and not touch anyone), what's stopping me from going into the restroom at Target and doing just that?
