Money doesn’t change the makeup of the electorate.
Unless her district has changed, it is made up of the western half of the parish including Baker, Scotlandville, North Baton Rouge, and downtown. Possibly Gardere too.
Advocate story on previous runoff
To say that district is solidly black is an understatement.

Clinton Portis says "they're his dogs, he can do whatever he wants with them".

Because that would make you a racist, obviously

Thanks for sharing the article. Based upon this case and the other info shared, I would gladly support pretty much anyone running against her. This includes Grover (her opponent in the last election).
PETA can be overreaching/extreme. This is the type of case they should be taking on!

Moot point. He'll be shot dead in a drive by before his 21st birthday.
Yeah but unfortunately by that point he'll probably reproduce at least 3 times to, at minimum, 2 different young ladies.

She's been graded poorly by publications and peers, suspended for misconduct, accused of allowing violent criminals to be released early to re-offend, etc. The list goes wayyy back to late 90's.
She's absolutely shite.
Yet the people of BR can't find someone to take her seat come election time.
ETA: Wow, now im seeing the linked article. No wonder the woman is still there. If I didn't know any better i'd say that was gerrymandering looking at her district map.

Well a very reputable black female prosecutor (Gail Atkins) ran against her about a decade ago and lost. I've been in her courtroom on many occasions and how she treats law enforcement, child service workers and probation and parole officers is despicable in my opinion. But its not just her, the Louisiana juvenile justice system is a complete joke.

The boy is an Iberville Parish resident. Has the Sheriff attempted to get a warrant from a W.B.R. Judge?

Their is a link between sociopaths and cruelty to animals...

Judge is probably friends with the family.

I'm not questioning that there isn't ignorance and incompetence involved but seems there is a mixing of legal channels. If the crime was committed in EBR, shouldn't it be an EBR Sheriff bringing a warrant?

Maybe the Judge is just a "cat person."

I hate Baton Rouge and dindu politicians/judges more by the day. How do you fricks still live there?

Family is here. Wife has a business and doesn't want to uproot the kids, I have a good job. That's about all I've got. If we stay we'll probably move 2 miles down the road to AP if St George doesn't happen. At least NBR won't get to vote on my property taxes there.

Have to push the outrage, and force the State AG to get involved, then he can crush her in media, make her look foolish to everyone in state, and give himself brownie points.
Attorney Generals are always looking to get their name out there, so they can move onto the next political position in next election. This is a case he can get people rallied around.
