There hasn't been an actual lynching in like 80 years and even then, a large chunk of white people were also lynched. There's a lot of records out there that show as much.

Exactly. And all of a sudden, in todays climate, 3 full truck loads of white guys are gonna decide to start up. That’s what I’m saying. A small handful is at least more believable than 3 truckloads

You left out one important detail. He was captured on a game camera going into the woods alone where he was later found by cadaver dogs. The landowner notified the police about the game camera footage when he saw the news about the guy being missing.
In my perfect world, if Crump pulled this stuff and it was 100% proven to be bologna and he was making shite up as a bad actor his punishment would live in prison.

Guys in their 60s and 70s had dads that were in it, and some ended up catching the tail end of it. I helped a friend clean out his gramps place and we found all the regalia.

I can think of several reasons. First it fits a victim narrative to galvanize the black community for political purposes. Second, the family will probably look to capitalize on this monetarily, and he will get a cut. The dead guys co-workers say that he was acting abnormally for about a week prior going missing. Basically an abrupt personality change from being joking and outgoing to becoming silent. The footage of him walking shirtless alone into the woods is bizarre. Everything seems to point to drug induced paranoia, and subsequent overdose.

Not sure how old most of you are, but I’ve seen many kkk members in my life. My parents bought a house in Tillmans Corner (Mobile County) in 1976. For years, they would parade up and down the streets in trucks and trailers.
A few klansman tortured and killed 19 year old black male Michael Donald in 1981. They then hung him in a tree. The ringleader lived less than a mile from my house. The guy had a big burnt cross in the lot next to his house for years. He got the chair.
Now it’s been decades since I’ve seen anyone wearing those hoods. shite was way different back then.
