It's hard to find a Pepsi in Louisiana.

For you folks in the south, Coke is woke as all get out. They are all about the DEI and have lost many good people due to their stance. I was loyal Coke drinker, but after seeing how they did some of my friends, I said frick them. Not saying Pepsi is better than them in that category, but they are seriously woke and will jump on the flavor of the day.

As for this post, the name definitely checks out

You won’t eat at a place based off of the type of fricking cola they serve?

Fountain sales are what have kept Coke on top for a long time. I think if you look at just can/bottle sales, Pepsi products are pretty close.

Really?

We just spent a week in Chicago and everywhere we tried to get a Diet Coke, we were met with "Diet Pepsi?". By the time we got home, I was dying for a DC (its my vice). I actually said how strange I found it that pretty much every business has Pepsi when I've never seen it in anyone's actual home in my life.

That exact scenario has caused me to visit convenience stores when visiting up north. I don't drink them that often but when I do it is diet coke

Dude, Diet Pepsi is nasty af.

Pepsi max/ Pepsi Zero was pretty decent until they “improved” the flavor and cut out the ginseng and half the caffeine out .

Now it tastes like a cheap Coke Zero knockoff

How many restaurants still do this?

At one point, the main companies doing so were the Tricon ones (Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, KFC), which were previously owned by Pepsi and had signed an exclusivity agreement before being spun off.

These days, I think it is mainly a few minor restaurant chains and the Sams snack bar.

I have coke in the fridge right now but a Pepsi is refreshing every now and then. Wild Cherry Pepsi is very good. I don’t get the Pepsi hate.

Dr Pepper is bottled and distributed by coke in Baton Rouge, and I’m guessing most places.

Not in Laffy. I used to work at that plant. They somehow got the contract to produce Dr. Pepper in their area. From Morgan city to like Crowley.

Never thought about drink choices when picking a restaurant. It does seem most pizza joints serve Pepsi.

Oh, I can't eat Taco Bell without a Diet Pepsi. But that's because it's Taco Bell and it's a one-off. I can't do Diet Pepsi as a go-to.

It'a all about how much the franchisor and the franchisees will get in return for switching. Believe me, all places are looking for the best time to swap to get the most of the deal. That's simply the deal. The south loves Coke, the left and right coasts love Pepsi. So brands from those other places decides what you will get offered. Most people can tolerate any brand. Smaller percentages can only tolerate one brand sadly.
