If you're going to a restaurant based on the soft drink options, you need to just go to the gas station and get a can of coke and a honey bun

The bad thing about that is that they once made a good sandwich. Now with the shite people they have representing them and the shite people who work there, it's just a shite place.

Every casino I've been to on the Gulf Coast serves only Pepsi products. I always wondered how they got that contract.
Some of that is due to national contracts.
From my experience:
Team Pepsi:
Caesars (Harrah’s GC and NO)
Boyd Gaming (IP, Treasure Chest, and Amelia Belle)
Team Coke:
MGM (Beau Rivage)
Island View
Penn Gaming (Boomtown NO and Gulf Coast, and Hollywood Gulf Coast)
Hard Rock Biloxi
Silva Slippa
I apologize in advance if one or two of these have changed recently.

Yeah it’s still way higher than subway uses to be, but what he got for under $50 wasn’t really terrible. Dude spent like $20 on chips and cookies.

Only weak men consume soft drinks

Subway is known for its great marketing decisions, like having a pedophile as the face of the franchise for years.

It is crazy. I can now go to a sit down restaurant and get better food cheaper than some of the fast food places.

Subway definitely isn’t worth $50 for a family. Firehouse is about as expensive, but much better.

I fell off going to Subway a long many years ago. I'm finding a Firehouse if I'm on the road and will somewhat go out of the way to eat there

I only drink soda if I’m putting whiskey in it, but I feel you as I’ll never order a Jamesons and Pepsi.
But then again I rarely drink Jameson and coke at a Subway so guess I don’t really give a shite.

Me too. Firehouse is a little more expensive. But it’s much better in every way. I haven’t been to Subway in 10 years.

To cut to the core of this question…they buy their way in.
Soft drink companies offer rebates and “marketing” dollars as incentive to serve their products.
Those contracts also apply to universities and in some instances high schools.
It’s a VERY lucrative business that I’ve seen write contracts that will pay high schools $250k (high includes buying the football scoreboard) over 5 years.
It’s insane.
In southern Louisiana the only way Pepsi stays in business it to almost literally give away their product.

bet many die hard Coke fans would fail a blind taste test
My kids don’t drink many soft drinks but one does like Coke every now and then and refuses Pepsi.
A couple times if I brought something home where they only had Pepsi and didn’t tell him he didn’t know the difference.
I drink a handful a year and the only difference I can tell is if you get diet or zero sugar. Those are vastly different.
