Do you ever eat at Subway?

I was a couple of times a month until a few months ago because

“They are doing crazy coupons,” the franchisee griped.

But they stopped doing BOGOs. I was getting 2 footlongs on Monday and eating half each day. 4 meals for $11 was a pretty good deal.

It should be illegal to sell sodas at school and “biggie size” portions at fast food restaurants. It’s big part of the downfall of our society that isn’t talked about nearly enough.

You can frick right off with this. And Europe isn't nearly as strict as you think it is when it comes to food standards.

What consumers don’t understand about Subway is that it was never a restaurant. It has ALWAYS been a business model to be marketed to franchisees. The emphasis has always been on build out costs and marketing cheap food and labor at a replicable cost. Food quality is incidental. They can only survive at the bottom of the market, when quality is considered, people make better choices.

This isn't left or right it's money. Obama tried to get this shite out of schools and his liberal friend Amy fricking Klobuchar said that pizza sauce should be considered a vegetable because the Schwan Corporation from her home state of Minnesota would stand to lose a lot of money under the new rules. Apparently they provide a lot of frozen pizza to schools. She and others killed these efforts due to the large "food" lobby. That's when we started seeing Michelle's fat arse on TV telling kids to get up and move more because there's no lobby against that.

I never thought it was all that good but went there in the early 2000s because it was cheap and "healthy."

Now that there are a million more options, prices are up, and it's known to not be healthy, why bother?

All the sandwich shops are ripoffs but at least Jersey Mikes, WhichWhich, Firehouse, Lenny's and I guess Jimmy John's are way better tasting with less trashy employees.

This is the result of the economy/inflation.

I either get jersey mikes or Publix if I want a sub. I wouldn’t feed my dog a subway sandwich.

The footlong fried oyster was the best deal going when it was $5.

Quality of subway sandwiches have gone down the drain in the last 10 years. Firehouse is infinitely better

I was in the airport back in February and it was the only thing open at the time...so I had to eat there. It was absolutely awful and so overpriced. Prior to that its probably been over 5 years since I've eaten there. I'm sure the only reason I ate there even then was because it was convenient. With better places like Jersey Mike's and Firehouse, hell, even Jimmy John's...I never understood how they stay in business...especially after the whole Jared pedophile shite. I think the only thing that keeps them is business is its convenience for some people and still being a slightly healthier fast food option than McDonald's.

Other shops like Firehouse are definitely better quality, but definitely not the same price. Subway is definitely cheaper. A 12" meatball at Subway is $7.50. A 12 inch meatball at Firehouse is $12.99. Steak and Cheese is $9.79 at SW and $13.99 at Firehouse.

I go back and forth on this. On the one hand, I hate how fat we are as a country and the drain it puts on our medical system from a financial perspective. On the other hand, I hate the government and the less they tell us what to do, the better. In a perfect world, people would take some ownership and make better food choices but we all know how that'll go.
Im in the same boat especially the last sentence. But we as a society have proven that we won’t do that.

pub subs are really good, it can just take a very very long time to get through the line if there's even just 1 or 2 people ahead of you

I order online and pick up, which usually works. But if they don't see the order or whatever (which happens not too infrequently) you're pretty screwed unless you want to cut in front of a bunch of laborers and force your hand.

Used to eat there all the time, but it’s been a couple of years, the food is the same but the prices have gone way up. Would much rather eat at Jersey Mike’s or firehouse

I actually like fast food, usually.

It’s a guilty pleasure. Whoppers at BK, fries at McD, Frosties and the occasional spicy chicken sandwich at Wendy’s.

But Subway is simply GROSS.

There’s nothing I want there. Ever. The whole place is disgusting.

It’s so bad I would choose making a sandwich at home over eating anything from there ever. There is literally nothing I want from a Subway ever.

I never felt Like I was “eating fresh” when eating at Subway. When you can now get a Banh Mi poboy with great bread and fresh vegetables, why would you choose subway?

I used to eat there when they would send me BOGO coupons for 12 inches. The sandwich wasn't good enough to purchase at the regular rate.

I have one I can walk to. I only eat there if I’m in a bind and have nothing for dinner. They always have a BOGO footlong.
