re: Stupid ways to get fired? Got any good stories?

Had a guy reply-all to an email from the CEO saying all staff had off for the new federal holiday Juneteenth. He used the n-word in his email.

I thought it made the CEO look bad too, as if an employee thought it was OK to just send that to the CEO.

Guy would go into the office to print out porn on the weekends.

He left a print job in the queue and when someone went to print on Monday morning they got some nice 'chicks with dicks' to go along with their spreadsheet


I think he claimed some porn addiction so he got sent to porn rehab and shipped off to another location.

I worked with an OT 9.9, one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever known. We had a company picnic one day and one of my employees decided she was his…,,literally. He walked up behind her and picked her up, attempting to just carry her off. When I arrived at the picnic everyone came up and told me what happened. He was arrested. The lady and I ended up talking a lot in the next few weeks and became pretty tight, so I thank him for that. I ended up bailing him out of jail and fired him the next week when he wouldn’t seek professional help.

Was a janitor back in college. A guy used to have sex in his bosses office because it had a comfortable sofa. I walked in on the act one night while emptying trash cans. I never said anything but the guy's boss caught him one night when he went back to the office to retrieve his reading glasses.

Had a pediatrician come up to me at the hospital and say he had 6 newborns have lab results they caused him to perform spinal taps and all 6 taps were normal. That was extremely unusual. And asked if I would research it. Of course, I immediately pulled them all up and it came down to one tech reporting each one. I review her slides and found she was calling a cell incorrectly. I did all the HR documentation, retrained her, etc. She continued to say, thats not how I was trained (during college). She showed NO contrition of causing new borne babies to have spinal taps. NONE. So, the next evening she works at the bench, she does the exact same thing. I send her home for 3 days and when she returns I instruct her not to perform anymore slides on anyone under 10 years old. Before I got home I get this call saying she had done the same thing. I turn around and fire her the second I see her and tell her never to set foot in the lab again. Administration and HR were mad because they had this "appeal" process to where you're suppose to get this big committee going before a termination. I told them to find her a job somewhere else in the hospital because if she set foot in the lab again the Pathologist, the MD, and myself would be in the CEOs office. And if that didn't work I would have the parents of all the newbornes come in. It worked, but, of course I had to find another job really quick. All because of a chip-on-the-shoulder ignorant non-caring tech.

Straight out of high school, I worked in an acetylene plant. New guy gets hired and on his first day, he walked up to the big bay doors at the front of the plant. No smoking signs are everywhere on the front of the building. That idiot leans against the door, pulls out a pack of cigarettes and a lighter, and attempts to light up. First day on the job and got fired in less than 15 mins.

A girl I went to college with got a job as an office manager at a construction company. I actually had an interview there but turned it down after I already accepted another job. Anyways, we were friends on Facebook and over time I noticed her posting pictures of a new camper, side x side, taking vacations etc. Her husband worked on the road crew for the city so I figured I lost our on a really good salary.

Saw her on the news not long after saying she stole over $100K over a period of a few years
