Of course....yet more proof the "experts" get it wrong ALL THE TIME so stop living in FEAR.

Yea, there are no verified cases of reinfection that I have found (I will admit I'm wrong, if someone provides a link).

There are plenty of studies saying reinfection is possible, but no proof.

The studies saying there is NO reinfection have plenty of proof.

And if antibodies don't work, where do people think a vaccine is going to come from?

You cannot say immunity is not possible, but yet hope for a vaccine.

I've had the virus, so I have a very vested interest on whether reinfections can occur.

I have spent a considerable amount of time looking for evidence, and I have found none. I have found plenty of evidence that it cannot occur (at least this season).

I have found no evidence of ANY reinfections.

Same here. I am in the same boat as you. I tested positive for Covid 19 back in April. And I have been looking up and down for anything suggesting a declaration backed by doctors and scientists, just like you. There are a bunch of studies thrown around and media tidbits (like slowflowpro posted) - but that's just McDonald's for the disease anxiety (fearporn) crowd. There's nothing factual about it.

nursing homes were really, really bad things.
Because the caretakers weren't following protocol. Shocker: these people aren't well trained at anything regarding the medical field. They're no different than daycare workers. Just there to babysit.

This is the sort of asshattery that will lead to civil suits. I certainly don’t subscribe to the thought that we should all be sheltering in place and wearing hazmat suits when we must be in public, but on the other hand, we do each have a responsibility to those around us to not be negligent.

This is why I think contact tracing isn't going to work well in the US.

For starters, your health status is no one's business. you are not compelled to provide any of that information. And doing so will open you up to all kinds of nonsense if you are suspected of transmitting the virus.

Again, I wouldn’t sue, even if my kid or I was affected. But I assure you that there are some that would if a lawyer told them it was promising.

Contact tracing works for fast-acting deadly viruses like Ebola.

For a disease with a 2-week infection time and many asymptomatic cases, it's worthless.

After I tested positive, the state contact tracers called me everyday for 2-weeks. I never answered.

What new research? There is none. These people are supposedly experts and have been studying viruses of all types their entire careers.

They know whether masks work or not.

They LIED to the public to prevent a run on masks because they anticipated a shortage.

That's a fact. So, all credibility was lost very quickly.

this is the primary issue. you'd have to isolate these people and have robots serve them or something

No you absolutely wouldn’t.

Why do you continue to take only extreme positions? Again, this virus isn’t alive and it doesn’t transmit through magic. Isolation is not the only way to avoid getting it. And robots serve them? Why do they need someone to serve them? They can’t handle daily activities?

mean we saw in the initial surge that nursing homes were really, really bad things.

You mean when states were forcing nursing homes to take back infected patients with no other precautions taken and handed them over to a staff that did nothing extra to help?

quote:

you go through the demos I posted earlier, we're talking about removing a huge chunk out of the economy that's WITHOUT relying simply on the obese category

Dude why do you keep saying complete removal and isolation is the only method of reducing risk?

Some people are going to die. It happens every day and will continue to happen to the end of time.

Too much of that "research" has been intentionally manipulated to be believed.

The "experts" have not only been repeatedly WRONG, they've repeatedly been caught LYING for Political purposes as well as personal gain.

New research?

We've known for quite a while whether masks are effective as stopping certain size aerosols from entering the air.

We've also known for quite some time the size of the covid aerosols.

It's pretty simple at that point.

There is tons of new research. I shouldn’t have to link it, if you dig a little yourself you can find it.

The reason we were told they were unneeded in the beginning is because we did not have a full understanding of the virus’ ability to spread before symptoms appeared. I will be the first to agree with anyone that says it was malpractice for us to be told we did not need to wear them.

Continuing to not wear them based off of antiquated info is idiotic.

They undoubtedly work.

This is a stupid fricking topic.

Yes. Allowing people to interact more will lead to more cases. This is common sense and I don't know why people are shocked and freaking out over it happening especially with the riots/protests along with July 4th and beaches opening. This is expected and leaders should have been open about it and planned accordingly for the pushback.

When cases spike in NYC again, they will be well prepared. How many thousands of vents did their governor beg for? Is the aircraft carrier still in the harbor with COVID staff/supplies/beds, etc. for the overflow from hospitals?

Why do you continue to take only extreme positions?

because we have no idea on how to stop the spread of this virus and extreme results occur when it's allowed to spread

quote:

They can’t handle daily activities?

if you're removing them from the risk pool, then no, they can't. a big pattern that we've seen is familial transmission while living together. they can't live with people who are engaging in the world, either, due to this.

quote:

You mean when states were forcing nursing homes to take back infected patients with no other precautions taken and handed them over to a staff that did nothing extra to help?

i'm not saying the governments didn't frick up, but the reason that happened was b/c there as no where else to put them

a major issue I see with the "reduce risk of those at risk" policies is scale. we don't have enough safe nursing home beds for our elderly. how do we make more room for the rest who are at risk?

quote:

Dude why do you keep saying complete removal and isolation is the only method of reducing risk?

what other options are there for the at risk?

nursing homes? major risk
staying at home with family? major risk
living on their own? might as well have no restrictions
