There's been studies out that have said the way people wear masks, and the type used are virtually useless for a long time. Your ilk just ignores it.
Even the left wing god Fauci has said at a certain point, it's simply messaging.

“10%” bullshite is harming our kids way more than helping

The concept of masking elementary aged children all day is the dumbest idea I have heard in a long time.
I imagine teachers unions (not our best and brightest) are behind this.

I don't think people understand what this says. It filters 10% of aerosols. 90% escape.
If 90% of covid escapes people will get infected. This does not say that masks reduce infection by 10%.
Willfully ignorant virtue signalers need to hear this over and over again.

Its all because they are scared of lawsuits.
They want to cya and say “but we did everything the CDC/LDOE recommended”.

So wear the mask that works. How hard is that?
You wear it, and I don't need to. Easy

You mean the neck gaiter that I can see through that I wear as a mask doesn't actually do anything and is only to make others feel "safe"?
No way!
No way!

I wonder how all you anti maskers would feel if a doctor or nurse did surgery on you without a mask
Or even if you got a teeth cleaning and the hygenist
didn’t wear a mask…

Mask mandates also don’t work because most people just don’t wear the masks along with the fact that when they do, it barely matters.
It’s just an exercise in futility
It’s just an exercise in futility

You think this is the first study showing masks are ineffective

Dumbest take by far, and that's saying something.
Surgical areas are sterilized, your environment is not. You can google the word if you need to.

Wouldn't care. Thanks for confirming you pussies are scared of your own shadow.

N95 masks aren’t meant to be used and re-used again and again
quote:
As with other filtration processes, N95 masks intercept foreign particles in different layers of the mask material. A particle can be captured either mechanically, if it encounters a mask fiber directly in its path, or electrostatically, if the mask material is such that it can attract and ensnare particles.16 On making contact with the surface of the fiber, adhesive forces, such as the van der Waals force, immobilize the particle on the surface of the fiber
Flow through a mask is usually thought to be laminar such that the flow would usually bend smoothly around an obstacle (fiber). If this is the case, mechanical capture of the particle on the surface of the fiber happens when a particle deviates from its streamline path, causing an impact with the mask material. This can happen for larger particles whose inertia is large enough to cause such a deviation from the streamline or for smaller particles whose Brownian diffusion is strong enough.18 For filters based on fibrous materials and operating at filtration velocities similar to those encountered in human breathing, the minimum filtration efficiency occurs for ˜0.3 µm sized particles. At this scale, the filtration mechanism crosses over from a diffusion dominated regime to an inertia dominated regime.19
In addition to mechanical capture, N95 respirators employ an electrostatic mechanism to attract and intercept foreign particles (charged or uncharged). This happens when there are significant electric fields and electric field gradients in the mask material, which may occur when the fibers are charged.20 It is these electrostatic interactions that raise the filtration of N95 masks to the 95% level. Charged fibers can attract both inherently charged particles by Coulombic forces and neutral polar particles (such as tiny aqueous droplets) by dielectrophoretic forces that come from the interaction of polarized objects and electric field gradients.
N95s are light years beyond Memaw's underwear mask. But they aren't made to be used over and over. They can be cleaned and recharged but nobody's doing that shite

Not to mention all of the allowable exceptions.
Indoors
Sports
Restaurants
Etc
Yet people are still peddling the idea that it's an effective mandate.

Dr. Osterholm has been saying this since last year. You need a 95 that’s properly constructed with a good fit, no facial hair etc

If you have 100 people in a room and you wear your mask you’re saving 10 of them from infection.
That's not what the study says.
Might help if you actually read the study.

I love how the leftist reaction to this is "well then buy an expensive mask that wasn't available anywhere until a few weeks ago and never touch your face the entire day even though that has proven to be psychological impossible for most humans and if you depend on glasses for you vision also buy these 3 extra items so that your glasses don't fog up!"

The best analogy I’ve heard about wearing the cloth masks is that it’s the equivalent of building a chain link fence to keep out mosquitoes.
