Stub Hub / Ticketmaster rip off

A couple of weeks ago I bought tickets to a sporting event and was directed to Stub Hub. After selecting my tickets, I was offered a parking pass for $29. I selected it but when on the payment page it added $16 in fees, making the price $45. I thought that a recent law required the total price to be listed versus adding fees at checkout. I went ahead and paid the revised total but wasn’t happy about it. What made it worse was when I arrived you could pay $20 at the entrance to the same parking area.
Today I decided to go to a small college baseball game for fun. Tickets were $39 on Stub Hub. I showed up planning to pay at the gate and it turns out there are no tickets to be collected. The games are free.

Just a FYI, on ticket seller "SeatGeek" if you're buying, there is an option that will show the price for buying tickets to include all fees.
What you see is what you pay.

This should be illegal.

I don't know if they're missing out on money because of this, but there have been events that I wanted to go to but skipped on just because of the constant fees. Priced me out.

Just wait until you find out that the buyer also pays a fee. Secondary ticket markets have to make a killing by doing little more than a system processing transactions.

Happened to us at cws in Omaha. Paid for a parking pass just to get to the lot and find out 3rd party tickets were not accepted and parking was way less than we paid. Got a refund from stub hub though.

frick Stubhub. I deleted my account with them after they deliberately ripped me off on a NASCAR ticket package last year.
The listing category was clearly "Talladega Two-day Package." When I bought the tickets, I only received one set for Saturday's events and nothing for the Sunday race. Customer service was about as helpful as a wet fart. They basically told me tough shite, we won't do anything, but you could always try to resell them! (with their tacked on seller fees). I told the customer service rep right then and there that I was going to obliterate my account and never use their shite platform again.
I disputed the charge with Capital One and actually won the case.

I'm pretty sure all sites have this. Some you may have to click a slider or something, but I haven't seen a ticket resale website in YEARS that didn't have some way to see an "all-in" price

Never buy tickets online. They are all a ripoff

Kid Rock has been screaming about this for years

quote:Maybe so but I just looked on SeatGeek for LSU baseball tickets (2 together) for tomorrow's 1 PM game with S. Carolina and there are numerous pairs of tickets in the grandstand green seats for $15, $16, $17/each, fees included.

The price printed on season tickets for those seats for that game is $19/each.
$15/ticket for seats under the roof doesn't seem like a "ripoff" to me.

Recently avoided ticketmaster fees by going to the box office and buying tickets. Saved me 40 bucks a ticket.

If I’m going to an event that is small or one that I know won’t be a sellout, I’ll take my chances at the box office at the venue. Worst case scenario, I stand there and go to TM and SeatGeek and purchase right then.

This isn't the issue with them because you would always see the fees before paying, the issue is that fees even exist and the percentage that they are
I could give a frick if a law was passed to show the full price

To watch the worst LSU team in years
Now try to buy those same tickets when they are in Omaha. Many games where the worst tickets are $200+

Thanks!! I never would have known that!
