When I lived there, it was the humidity. Made the summers hotter and somehow made the winters seem colder too.

Louisiana’s taxes are extremely high for what the government puts back in the state. I’m not interested in paying 10% state income tax, but there’s no argument California provides a lot more services than Louisiana, for example.
