In Prairieville, still have power by some miracle. Having the TV on is keeping me sane. Every time the wind gets bad my roof creaks and my blood pressure shoots up.

This should be the worst of it currently in the NOLA metro. Jefferson is having a bad time. The River Parishes are having a much worse one.

ETA: I mean wind.

Y'all gonna flood some.

Houma is fricked. Flood waters moving in on Clark Estates. Buildings and houses collapsed and shredded.

Nothing was mostly evacuated. The government officials who whiffed on this deserve criminal charges. Why was everyone so nonchalant? They didn’t even think about canceling the Saints game until Thursday and Latoya told everyone to just stay in place while JBE refused contraflow.

Unforgivable gross incompetence that should be prosecuted. There should be a massive overhaul of our disaster preparedness and response. We learned nothing collectively from 16 years ago. Or our government is just that much worse.

Far too worried about COVID.

Wait you can’t just throw that out with nothing. What sources do you have? Are you there?

This is why I took before photos. Building got wiped out by #Ida #NOLA LINK

Look closely at that first pic though. That old arse building didn't have a roof in the first place.

Any word on Houma? How are things currently?

Crappy… lots of lost roofs gone or leaking the old cafe Dominique building is partially collapsed. Heard Bourg school had a partial collapse. The Bubba dove lock blew open and there are many barges ans boats breaking free.

ETA: three out of four of my family members that stayed have water pouring through their ceilings at the moment

A lot will depend on the next mayoral election but I’d say not likely.

I mostly slept through Andrew. Gustav hit hard around my area. Nothing compares to that damn tornado though. That thing got me ruined for life.

Currently the worst for wind is right now.

Unless the bitch picks up speed there will be more rain and flooding well into the night
