Nothing was mostly evacuated. The government officials who whiffed on this deserve criminal charges. Why was everyone so nonchalant? They didn’t even think about canceling the Saints game until Thursday and Latoya told everyone to just stay in place while JBE refused contraflow.
Unforgivable gross incompetence that should be prosecuted. There should be a massive overhaul of our disaster preparedness and response. We learned nothing collectively from 16 years ago. Or our government is just that much worse.
When we start picking up the pieces and assessing the damage Tuesday I think we’ll see a lot more loss than we thought.
