Bruce Katz on Fox 8 basically saying the longer it stalls the better chance it will have of not only turning north but maybe even NE.

In the last two hours or so, the western edge of Ida's eyewall has moved from just west of Chauvin LA to just west of Raceland LA.

This works out to an average motion of something like 5 degrees on the compass- *just* east of due north.

Usually I think of >2hr wobbles as trends LINK

Fletcher was just there. Lots of wind, no damage or flooding.

Thanks for the update. We left a couple of cars as well, so we are just hoping that we get lucky as far as debris goes on the cars. Obviously worried about wind and flooding as well being in the Lakeview area.

Latoya is a typical Dem count. None of them will ever take responsibility. All they know is to point fingers and place blame on someone else

Has Nguyener (sorry if misspelled) checked in today?

He was up late posting in here and pretty stressed, hope he and his family are okay.

I’m ok. Thanks.

Woke up this morning at around 6am and threw the wife and kids in the car and left.

Begged the other family to come but they wouldn’t listen. They’re adults. They made their decision. Based on everything I watched last night and predictions I saw this morning I had to get my kids out. We went west.

It looks like I made the right decision and I’m sick to my stomach about what those we left behind are going through. It sucks that I can’t be there to help them. But nothing is more important than the safety and development of my kids. I made the right choice. It just sucks.

Yes I am worried about the rain. Doesn’t look good

If you're in BR, this turn is much better for you in terms of rain. Northshore on the other hand...

For every person that likes that there is one that hates that.

That map looks like the hurricane was trucking along the interstate and realized he was about to miss the exit for New Orleans slammed on the brakes and swerved across 4 lanes of traffic to just make it

I’m glad you and your kids evacuated. When kids are involved, safety should be a parent’s top priority. Smart decision.

Kenner has been getting incrementally worse every 10 minutes for the last hour. Definitely a rough 2 hours or so ahead.

My aunt is riding it out with a friend in Kenner. Is Kenner in bad shape?

The Lutcher to Kenner corridor is about to get smoked for the next few hours.
