I count 4 mesovortices rotating around the outer portion of #Ida's eye, evident in the low cloud field. And the eye is now *completely over land*! I don't think I've seen this before with a storm over land. #GOES16

These mesos are also due to land interaction, which is really only happening now as it gets to the Houma region. This could potentially get very very scary in Houma and any of the surrounding areas on good solid land.

Stoopid question time.
If this thing crawls or stalls, is it going to eat up more of its energy down there before moving northward? In other words not as bad for BR or the north shore necessarily?

That is bas arse! I want to see that camera footage if they retrieve it.
I hope they get it. He and his team have worked forever on it. He seems like good people.

Yep.
Really, really bad for anyone the storm is sitting on.
Good for everyone else.

I guess I'm just wishful thinking with so many damn friends and family that stayed.

Goddamn get me his location. I’ll do it. Even wear my TD hat.
He was just on again. I saw a Marriott logo behind him so that should narrow his location.
He doesn't need to fake right now. The rain is moving sideways.

Part of the problem is it is on land in the sense it is across some lines on a map. It's still feeding off the shelf waters and even the bayous. It's not enough to intensify, but it sure as shite will slow down the weakening.
