Martin Folse talking to the guy that manages the flood retention wall in Golden Meadow. The water is above the wall, which is around 11-12' high. Unreal.

Lol. That's poo brown marsh washout there. I grew up with a camp there and still fish there about once a month. Damn shame my kid will never get to experience it the way I did

Is this true, it being 14 feet above ground. I saw a pic of it mounted on the YouTube stream and it looked to me like it was 6-7 feet off ground. But maybe I missed something.

14 feet above sea level. 7 feet off the ground, which is 6-7 feet above sea level at that spot. It's on top of Grand Isle's mountain.

Yeah the guy he was talking to was shocked. He thought it was only 6' but confirmed that the gate height is 11-12' and it's over the top of it. So no idea how high it actually is above that 11-12' gate.

Carrollton, Hollygrove, and the Lower Garden district all have pretty extensive power outages in NOLA. Uptown hanging strong.

Yup on plum and Carrollton and we lost it about 30 minutes ago. Which is weird we’re usually the last to lose power, if at all, on our block. The whole area will lose power and somehow we won’t. Guess the law of averages has ruled

Observation site just NW of Grand Isle reported sustained winds of 116 mph. You just don't see actual observations of major hurricane force winds very often. #IdaWx #lawx LINK

TWC coverage seems pretty light. Seems like the used to have like 20 correspondents all over the place when covering these storms in the past.

Why is all radar data except for Reflectivity and Velocity out of KLIX old data?

Why are there just random cars parked in the middle of the street in NO? I assume some of those are for the weather channel people, but still a bunch out there that will likely get flooded.
