Intensity models are still the weak link but the intensity models did nail it in that they showed Ida forming and strengthening all the way until landfall. They didn’t say cat 5 but they showed it never weakening and strengthening all the way until the coast so people needed to be ready for a bottomed out storm.

Evaced for cause was not what I meant. Wife needed to be at work for the duration of this due to the business she’s in and we figured we’d go along and help. Plus, I have an overly tall chimney at my house and I always assume I’m gonna lose it during these things so I’m happier elsewhere.

Nope. She’s not slowing down enough and is actually dropping in pressure. Ida is what she is now
Worse, it's still rapidly intensifying. Next update will probably have it at 155, and good chance of Cat 5 by landfall. Current visible satellite is both amazing and terrifying.
