I can’t comprehend riding this out in grand isle. That just makes 0 sense at all.

A new color showing up on the wind barbs.

Pressure really doesn’t appear to be out of control, at least.

There is absolutely nobody on the interstate going eastbound coming out of New Orleans but winds are starting to pick up and rain starting to come down I wouldn’t wait much longer if you trying to get out of Dodge. I figure hey bear minimum if it’s not as bad as it’s looking like it could be I’ll just turn the car around and come back

Lee is a character, but to be fair, Morgan City is in a lot better shape right now than it was a day or two ago. Looks like they’ll dodge the bullet a bit here, although it will still be a little hairy.

Then decline the interview. He was representing not only Morgan City but the whole region. His half-asleep tone just lulled anyone not paying close attention to the situation that it is just another routine storm that his town is prepared for.

Why won't someone from local leadership be direct and say "there will 100% be some loss of life due to this storm from either the direct impact of flood and wind OR because we don't restore infrastructure fast enough after".

Left NOLA at midnight. 10 to Florida is wide open. Lots of people sleeping at rest areas and gas stations. Don’t know if it’s too late or not, but Godspeed to everyone.

That slightly westward shift took our noaa forecasted gusts from 90 down to 70. Don't really want to wish this on anyone, but if I have to fart, I'm farting southwest. Every inch this things goes west is apparently a big deal.

The plane has not made it to the northeast quadrant yet. New numbers should be out pretty soon.

Looking at Waze and Booking dot com. It is not too late (light, light traffic) and plenty of lodging options but the time to go is right now.

Glad you got to Florida safely.

They’re all trying to wash their hands off right now. They now know that a lot of them have made a huge mistake by not issuing a mandatory evacuation, or trying to urge more people to leave

I see a 950 pressure. Waiting for the drop results to load from around the eye.

Lol, if it’s the one that says to put the filter in water then freeze it , for even cooler air , after you fill the tray with ice water, then you got ripped off

I know this is OT but Ive got to get to the bottom of this.

Is it possible that they dont work because you're trying to evaporate water into humid air and it doesnt evaporate much, leaving you with just slightly muggier air?

So are yall thinking the winds will be stronger than the winds were in lake Charles last year?

Those were supposedly record breaking? I think they hit 100mph at landfall

I just don't understand how these frickers did a huge power grab in the name of public safety the last 18 months but refused to use it to get people the frick out of the path of this storm

The design tells you to fill the compartment with ice water and then the fan blows air through the ice water to make the air cold.

But it doesn’t do that because that’s just not how a/c works
